Supercharged Nat Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 this wasnt a recent one but: me and a mate where heading back to the flat after a drive about. it was a short piece of dual (speed restricted though). we rolled upto some lights, i was behind him, his was a fiesta 1.25 zetec thing (mk4 i think?) he indicated right for me to go into the lane beside him. (it was for turning right but past the junction the road continued as dual upto the roundabout). so as i pull to the right the lights go green- i look to see him flooring it away from the lights and im still manouvering into the right lane! so i floor it, he was maybe 2 car lengths ahead, by the time i was in second i was level at the back of his car, then by the end of 2nd i was a cars length ahead, then into 3rd and he was nowhere to be seen! i got to the round about and sat and waited for a good 60 seconds before he showed up again (that was when the old girl was a std 2.0l bar exhaust manifold and K&N) great fun
TwoLitrePinto Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 this ones not complete plastic, and im sure theres a few of you using the engines from them, but anyway... was in a capri one night cruizin round ashford with my uncle, we come to a set of lights on the ring road with 3 lanes, sitting there already about to race was a mk1 scooby doo with a doris behind the wheel and a 5ierra saph cosworth. my uncle looks at me and says "we can either pull away slowly, or pull away slowly with a lot of smoke" i just grinned mk3 capper 3.1 swaymar race engine on a 4speed bullet box with a 3.09 diff rediculously tuned to the point it was going wrong every time he drove it. engine hated low revs and to make it worse the gears were stupidly long, i mean, 105mph in 2nd long. we pull away in a cloud of smoke, meanwhile the scooby and the cossie are off up the road, then we get to about 50-60, slap it in 2nd, still spinning to about 70, caught some grip, screamed thru 2nd gear and tore past both like they were going backwards, didnt even get to 3rd gear. that is what you call plastic killing

TwoLitrePinto Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 i think capris are the the round ones around corners, they dont understeer, they oversteer, yes they lean like a boat on 2.0 laser suspension tho! but when you know how to handle a capri you just throw it around like you dont give a f*ck and then if the arse comes out, you control it. simple really oh yeah UNLESS its raining or slippery road! they do understeer in the rain, very badly, and oversteer, they just go everywhere if u not careful lol
