dyno-rod orange

i think black or dark purple with silver rs decals would look the nuts

black with silver stripes i have seen before but i do very much like the idea of a dark purple (aubergine maybe? my mate use to have a 16e in aubergine) with silver or even gold stripes

Posted

as i also have one of these little fellas as my sensible car

(apologies for sullying the ford forum with a fiat)

i'm kinda tempted to spray it in the fiat (broom) yellow

good idea?

i can't have orange cos my mate had a beautiful orange mk1 and i can't bite his style

i don't want a colour that won't stand out from modern cars so that probably rules out white, silver, grey, black

i don't want a stupidly bright colour like luminous green or pink

i'm veering towards really deep rich colours like aubergine/purple, very dark brown or a shiny dark red - either that or beige

- but at the same time i always loved a bright yellow mk1

argh :?

this really is one of the toughest decisions in my life

Stuart mate, about the standing out from modern car part, have you ever parked a mk1 escort in a line of modern cars? It sticks out trust me :lol:

I'd paint it silver, as you dont see many that colur at all, or if your set on yellow what about that mettalic yellow lambos come in? It looks good.

Also have you looked at bike colours? The harley v rod comes in some amazing colours as do triumphs, and suzuki blue is always cool

i know it already stands out but i guess i'm just thinking it deserves to be a different colour to most cars on the road - really don't want to be tacky and tasteless though

really driving me mental this - i'm thinking about it constantly and everyone i ask has a different suggestion so i can't even add up the votes :)

I have the same problem with engine choice mate!

I still think black. It'll show up any car it is parked next to. It looks mean and pretty and the same time.

i went to see a lush 100e (which i got sniped on ebay for - bah!) a bit before i got my escort and i'm very tempted to do the escort in the same colours - i'm almost decided actually

black at the bottom and silver on top - basically same positioning as yours

(with the rs alloys nice and shiny silver with black detailing inside)

Escorts look awesome in black.

listen to the man, he speaks the truth!

You wont be dissapointed! how many 2 tone, unarched mk1's have you seen?...... you might regret it mate. :?

This idea does sound very original and in my opinion would rather suit an unarched escort especially with the square headlights, it would look hard as fook slammed on 13's.. proper GT street racer 8)8)8)
