Well the insurance runs out on my escort at the end of the month, and i'm ashamed to say that i haven't, in the past, owned up to the mods the car has :oops:

Anyhow last year i was paying around 480 quid for 12 months cover on a 1.1 base model escort

I just thought i would try Adrian Flux modified classic policy, and with everything declared, that includes full ST170 focus engine, 5 speed box, wilwoods, spax, harnesses exhaust, carbs, wheels and tyres, and the mex replica body,

It came to, £270 quid!!!!!! Thats nearly half the price, what a plonker i have been

i reckon insurance companies guess that most wont declare mods so make unmodded cars more expensive and reward the honest drivers :P

I changed my insurance from a 2L Capri to a 2.8i with lowered suspension, tubular manifolds, Janspeed exhaust, stage 3 heads, fast road cam, prinny brakes and a strut brace all declared. It went up £30 from £120 to £150 fully comp, 3000 miles a year.
