what's the fastest speed that you have been in a car??? (driving or being a passenger) and in what car?

I've been over 200mph on our local bypass in a TRD MR2 while I was on work experience. I was working for a bus company and one of the sons of the owner said he had to pick it for a mate, his mate said it does over 200mph so he tried it, never had so much fun in my life :lol::lol:

my uncles 400 bhp skyline  fooking fast!...but i was only a passenger.

Fasstest I have ever travelled as a passenger is 155mph in our mk3 supra!

Obviously not on a public highway

I have a friend who's Astra  does 164mph and plenty of mates who have been in it at that speed - but I'm not stupid enough to get in a front wheel drive vauxhall to find out

Honestly though - anything over 100 is a bit dangerous and pointless - it's how quick you get there that counts

never actually been that fast in a straight line, i prefer the corners :D

managed 100 odd in my old fiat cinquento though, that was scary

Yeh - me personally I've only gone 115mph in my AX and the worst thing was I only did it to go past Simon in the mk2 escort - shame on me

Sooo looking forward to getting the mk1 on the road so I can find some corners too.

I'm not a sunday driver by any means, but nor am I a fan of crazy speeds on a public highway, anyone who has done the kind of speeds that are being discussed seriously wants their head examined. You may enjoy taking the risk yourself, but what gives anyone the right to take a risk on behalf of the pedestrian / other motorist that you risk hitting? Seriously if you're doing 150mph or god forbid 200mph what chance have you really got of avoiding a collision if the unexpected happens?

That said I'm not a killjoy and did get my old Bike up to 160mph before I bottled it, BUT it was on a runway at a disused airfield and I was the only one at risk.

I agree, I work in traffic & safety and see a lot of accident statistics, but I have to admit to a speed of 90mph in a VW jetta GTi verified by Avon & Somerset safety camera partnership, a court appearance, £150 fine and 5 points!!!

I can forgive the speeding conviction.........but :pointandlaugh: admitting to owning a Jetta? :smiledoor:

Hmmm, i've driven a 'Rarri round Oulton Park, topped out at about 140. On the road, well....i'll admit to once driving 140. Not big, not clever i know...still, the week after i got done for drink driving, so if you fook about karma will get you...as will being a knob.

But yeah, 140 on a track in a 'Rarri with me driving. I've also been in a MKII Escort rs2000 on an airfeild......at 160 mph! :ykt:

we made sure the bypass was clear before trying it, plus it was summer so the weather was ok and the guy driving is a racing driver when he's not working for his dad's bus company (oh and he has about 4-5 mk1 escorts now :D )

Thats a fookin piss-take mate

and that 6mph over was pursued on the behalf of safety for everyone and not for the piss easy money to go into the coffers ????

yea right :evil::evil:

c*nts!

Back on subject, done some crazy and stupid things, top speed prob about 150 in various cossies, turbos etc

thing is though its not the speed that gets you its the area, my mum could drive 150 mph down the motorway, but doing 100 in a 30 thats the dangerous thing, thats what kills people and what should be stopped and enforced, I personally think motorways should be raised to at least 90 if not 100 mph limit and more resources spent stopping the silly little chavs in their saxos ragging around schools etc...
