I was around in the 70's and do remember (vaguely) cars looking like this but don't know the in and outs of how this jack up look came to be cool. Can someone more advanced in years explain it to me please?

the whole jacked up rear end came about from the states as the drag race and hot rod scene, i remember doing it with the red light shinning on the chrome rear axle as well

Banded rosyles, side pipes and the old fog light under the boot :mrgreen:

I remember cortinas and capris rolling in N London like that when i was a kid 8)

Thats when custom car used to drape a few naked dolly birds over the cover car!!!!!!

My mate bought a mk1 van a couple of years ago all pimped up with velour interior and shagpile carpet and port holes. It was red with a kind of ateam strip. It would have fitted in those pics a treat. I think it ended up in london :lol:

Those were the days! seriously. i hate being so young, id give anything to be born in the 60s in the uk, so i can buy a decent 2nd hand cortina as soon as i start driving and put a cosworth in it at the age of 30 =D

i have to agree with the post above!!! born in the wrong era :( but still been looking through some of fathers old photos and some similar cars if not the same cars taken picstures in totnes in devon ???? any more info?? or if any of ya remember my dad Garry Collins then be good to catch up :D

Thats still around doing the show circuit in the same paint as all those years ago

Im sure the first version wasnt all fibreglass but the one he has now is purely glassfibre bodied made from scratch

The white Thames van is still about its now Black and has been for some time known as Mr Torqure , still loads of the old stuff about though sometimes having a makover..........good to see pics
