X-pack-Glyn Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 Where do you get superchargers ? Eaton M45 mate, late shape mini cooper S had em, usually 2-3 on ebay at any one time, i paid 200 for mine on the buy it now, but if you bid ive known some peeps get em for around 90. theres a few floating about now as the works cooper conversions have new chargers fitted and many have less than 50k miles on, the unit is good for 150k miles im reliably informed. Avoid VW g-lader G40-60 units though.
BaileyMex Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I'm liking the sound of this, if you could get some pics and vids up I think everyone would love too see your work mate
Daveyboy20 Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Want to see the pics, was difficult to sort it all out, much fabrication needed? Id love to supercharge my capri engine, that'd just be ultimate 4 cylinderage which is what im going for (untill i swap it for a v8 and put the pinto in somethin else!
X-pack-Glyn Posted December 29, 2006 Author Report Posted December 29, 2006 Theres a few pics under projects section mate, but needs updating to be honest. theres been a fair bit of fab work needed but ive got some good mates who i owe big time. i took it round the block today and small children cower behind thier mothers and the mothers pull an evil face at me and the fathers look intreagued as to whats going on beneath the bonnet, its worth it just for the whine but it has to work so i got to plumb the pipework next. last hurdle is an airbox for the side draughs, been looking at holbay cars from the 60s and there was a few production 60s cars that had a cast alloy airbox for the sidedraughs so thats my next option. looking for a set of 40 delorto's off a lotus esprit as these are designed for forced induction too. failing all that theres allways shity efi to fall back on.
RChambers Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 "shitty" efi would work far better than carbs if you have the money to convert. I'd say going to cossie management would be your best option. Clint off of Turbosport is the best person to talk to as he did the management for Esme on the overhauling project.
Dom Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Nice one mate, my bros picking up another 24v cossie lump next week to fit the supercharger. Go on the supercharged capris!!!

RChambers Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Fair play to you I'm supercharging my zetec as we speak so will be interesting to see how the different approaches unfold. I'm using the same supercharger as you but charge cooling it instead and using fuel injection. I'm hoping for 220bhp
