sitting_budda Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Not sure if you would call these wheels oldskool or not, but they are different...
BaileyMex Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Found these from Midland Type: MINILIGHT Colour: SILVER ALL OVER Size: 5.5 x 15 PCD: 4-108 Offset: ET 14 Fitment: FORD Body Mods: POSSIBLE Has anyone got this off-set on a 15" rim and running 195/50/15's??
DEP Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I think 5.5 inch with that rim, wont look right, too skinny, I m sure you ll get away with a 7x15 rim, with a 195/45 tyre
escort21 Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Why not change the diff ratio...cheaper than new set of wheels.....
BaileyMex Posted March 25, 2010 Author Report Posted March 25, 2010 I only want a set of rims to use for the longer journeys, for the local stuff it can stay in the weeds on 13"s running on the 3:77 Just dont want to get a set that are gonna rub

Who found you a second set??

Thanks Pete but your a little far to just pop over, but cheers anyway Looked at the wheels on your car in your projct thread, fingers crossed there look as good on mine
arch Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 i dnt like thous 5.5s no dish imo. id rather low an slow it on 13s and look cool doing it
Toby Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 With the lower profile tyre on a 15/16 your gearing wont change by much anyway... A type 9 or even fookin better type 9 straight cut gearset will give it the bollox, rapid acceleration on a 4.1 13 incher and cruise mode on the 0.82 overdrive... As Ed and yourself say and I can't help agreeing, it looks ace running in the weeds - save the wheel money and put it towards a 5 speed - especially if you can get a gear kit. The Burton long first type 9 conversion has nice ratio's. For my money I'd keep it period on 13's
4DOOR-SHERWOOD Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I have 15 inch Compomotive ML's on my YB power mk1 and it looks crap, even lowered it didnt seem to look right so i have just bought some 13x7 RS 4spoke replicas from midland wheels then lower it to the floor!
BaileyMex Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 I'm not getting rid of the 7x13's, HELL NO! Just gonna try the 15's for the longer runs from west sussex up to the pod, as I wanna keep the original 4 speed etc
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 There's only one 15" old skool rim for me You'll need them a bit narrower than Al's 9 and 10J but they're available new again from revolution from 6J to 9J http://www.revolutionwheels.com/5-spoke/ they are by far the best
mk1super Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Change the diff mate, far cheaper, i feel your pain though 4.1 4 speed makes motor ways a horrid place to be, i now use the b roads instead, i will be fitting a type 9 to mine
BaileyMex Posted April 4, 2010 Author Report Posted April 4, 2010 Righto, got a set thrown on, still prefer the 7x13's but these will do for the trips to santa pod
over_head_cam Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Like it Col It's like everything slightly different on an oldskool, the reactions tend to be very polar. Thing is, with wheels they can be changes and altered to suit your needs
fezza Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Was'nt sure when you mentioned it on here first Colin but they actually look pretty damm good, deffo help with those killer long drives
RETRO_AL Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 The rears need to come out a little imo,i would stick some small shims on the back
BaileyMex Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Cheers guys, like i've said right from the start, they were only bought for the long journeys, NOT getting rid of the 13's And Al, I'll have to have a measure up first
