chunkys mk1 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 i am rebuilding my mk 1 escort 4 door which has had damage to the front panel so i am going to change it my problem is i am not sure if i should keep it original and refit the square lights or change to round ones i like the fact that square is a little bit different but also like the fact i can get new round ones which would look nice and fresh any thoughts guys
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 round but thats just my opinion
bigdaz27 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 you cant get square head lights new so i would go for round head lights thats why im changing mine over any way
.pete. Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 i'd go for square if it was me to be a bit different.
rallyesport04 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 round for me but square look at home on a black bonnet twinky
dalmarshall Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I got square but i like both, depends what look your going for. Round if you want the RS look or square for the twin cam/gt or just a bit different look
In The Pit Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I'd go for square they were fitted to the Twin Cam and other high spec models. Alot of people fit the round ones these days and the square ones aren't seen so much same with the MKII Escort. You should be able to pick up some nice second hand ones.
Mr Sam Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 square!!!!!! only seen a handfull of mk1's with square lamps
RossMK2 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 square FTW!!! i had this decision and chose square to be different
sambo Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Square are far cooler. More oldskool, different and just well.... cooler.
stuartp Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Square are far cooler. More oldskool, different and just well.... cooler. yeah, us squares just rule!
Fishtailparka Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Square are OK as long as you don't go anywhere at night. You can't see anything with them. Before making your mind up, it is easy to get new front panel and lights for round ones, but grills are pretty expensive. You can get them new from Grp4 Fabrications for £180 ish. About the same price as a very good second hand one. Square grills brand new are closer to 50p each. I prefer round, but your choice.
tom28 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 id have to go square, good to be different mate
mexman123 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Who cares??? Either is beautiful in my eyes.... Its like asking me who i would prefer to shag...Cheryl Cole or Kylie......(or Danni) for that matter!!
moredoorAsh Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Square, but then what do i know...i've got round angel eyes for my mk2
stephens_xpack Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Cheryl first, then Kylie and Dannie together.....and Square that Blue mark one a few replies back lots the dangly bits!!
In The Pit Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 square FTW!!! i had this decision and chose square to be different and they look great on your car mate. Two of my MKII's have round and three have square I just stick with whatever that model is supposed to have. With regard to square lights on a MKII they seem to be better than the round (non halogen ones). Also a fact that not many people know the square lights on a MKII actually shine round, if your MKII has square lamps try it at night park it up with the lights on in a dark area then walk a little distance away from the car and it looks just like a MKII with round lights.
