i am rebuilding my mk 1 escort 4 door which has had damage to the front panel so i am going to change it

my problem is i am not sure if i should keep it original and refit the square lights or change to round ones

i like the fact that square is a little bit different but also like the fact i can get new round ones which would look nice and fresh any thoughts guys

round but thats just my opinion

I'd go for square they were fitted to the Twin Cam and other high spec models. Alot of people fit the round ones these days and the square ones aren't seen so much same with the MKII Escort. You should be able to pick up some nice second hand ones.

Square are OK as long as you don't go anywhere at night. You can't see anything with them.

Before making your mind up, it is easy to get new front panel and lights for round ones, but grills are pretty expensive. You can get them new from Grp4 Fabrications for £180 ish. About the same price as a very good second hand one. Square grills brand new are closer to 50p each.

I prefer round, but your choice.

square FTW!!! :ykt:

i had this decision and chose square to be different

and they look great on your car mate.

Two of my MKII's have round and three have square I just stick with whatever that model is supposed to have.

With regard to square lights on a MKII they seem to be better than the round (non halogen ones).

Also a fact that not many people know the square lights on a MKII actually shine round, if your MKII has square lamps try it at night park it up with the lights on in a dark area then walk a little distance away from the car and it looks just like a MKII with round lights.
