Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 6, 2013 Admin Report Posted October 6, 2013 Who's been out or worked on their OSF this weekend? I just saw a lovely terracotta mk5 Cortina estate drive past the end of my road here in Hampshire - lovely day for a trundle

bradderz Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I've been maken frames to fit a pair of leather seats in my escort. It looks miles better now I'm well chuffed!!! 1
deltamal Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Been busy on the Mk3, replaced a broken bonnet release cable and replaced the screen wash pump......... 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted October 6, 2013 Moderator Report Posted October 6, 2013 It was still 30 degrees Celsius at midnight so drove in the Mk2 and hour and half to palm beach and parked close enough the front wheels touching the sand edge with the doors open to let in the sea breeze and sipped icy I bought from 7/11 on the way. No one else was there that time of night it was nice. This time of year you guys get the ice on your roads while we have to buy it in a cup 4
sidpf1972 Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Went to start my mk1 wouldn't start. Found out I ran out of petrol that was lucky running out when you last got home
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 6, 2013 Author Admin Report Posted October 6, 2013 Rally Pack 2000 - that sounds like heaven!!

PAUL MANN Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 yea been out in mine with some friends who have a couple of kit cars, after 10 mins of spirited driving blue smoke billowing from under bonnet & in the car pulled over to find rocker cover gushing out oil & i mean gushing it looked like i had just poured oil all over the rear of the engine,so slow drive to petrol station jet washed off then slow drive home & straight in the garage so it didnt leak all over drive
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 6, 2013 Author Admin Report Posted October 6, 2013 Oooh .... not so good Paul but at least you got home ... I guess that's a job for next weekend!

shaun1.6ghia Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Oh, was in escort as usual. Only to work an back but wouldn't start this morning as starter wire broke. One easy solution, press it on an cable tie round winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!

buzzard Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 I go out in the taunus most days . its fun even if I sit on the wrong side of the car . my other cars are sadly in bits
deltamal Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Took the Mk3 to a local radiator builders today to get a quote for a bigger capacity rad to be made, brass or aluminium? not sure yet, but will look good whichever! it's got an FX4 London taxi rad at the moment, cheap quick fix!
Admin Vista Posted October 9, 2013 Admin Report Posted October 9, 2013 Brass / copper cores are less prone to cracking and easier to repair if something does go wrong. If they're similarly priced i'd choose one of those.

stuartp Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 still slowly getting the Cortina painted so trying to leave that parked up with the masking tape etc went for a drive in the escort the other day though and noticed the heater fan had stopped working, this realisation was swiftly followed by the red battery light on the dash and nearly all of the dashboard gauges dying - car kept going ok though and I got home all seemed fine the next day (apart from no power to the heater still) odd never a dull moment
