stuartp Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 My Escort was stolen from Welling (outside my work) this afternoon around 1.20pm. It's a silver mk1 2 door, registration EPX 960L. on a traveller site off of the A206 near Dartford, kent but the police didn't manage to see it there. Gutted

Admin Vista Posted May 30, 2014 Admin Report Posted May 30, 2014 I'm sorry to read that Stuart, I don't understand why if the tracker says it's there the Police can't go in with a warrant and search properly?
iandq Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 i just read this on fb, such a shame, the police don't seem to want to help, they'll say they don't have the manpower, scared of upsetting the travellers ( or whatever the pc name for them is this week ) more like. i sincerely hope it does come back, good luck, ian.
bazoff72 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 WRONG! VERY VERY WRONG! B&^%$ARDS...................
XjamesX Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Saw this on Retards Club, absolutely gutted for you mate. Was this the same car that was attempted to be taken a few weeks ago?
Veemax Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Reckon you should go down the cop shop with yr tracker info and hold a sit in untill they go get the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, get the local MP involved as well Thievin Bastads make ya sick ay
Neon-rc Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 is your insurance company not having anything todo with it? theres always the option of rounding up some nutters that like a fight and offering them beer in exchange for the escort 1
Warriorwil Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Very sorry to hear this that your car has gone, the Police have a duty to investigate this properly, keep on at them. I hope you get it back.
marky4 Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Are they above the law now !!!! If I'd stolen someone's car and parked it in my garage I'd been arrested by now FFS
v8cortina Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Gutted for you. Keep pestering the Police. If the tracker shows the location they are duty bound to investigate
5tox Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Saw this on Retards Club, absolutely gutted for you mate. Was this the same car that was attempted to be taken a few weeks ago? As above, is this the same car?
over_head_cam Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Gutted Stuart, I hope you get it back soon and in one piece
Savvi Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Was sorry to read this, however I've just read on Fb that they moved the car last night out of the site (guessing the Police hanging around spooked them ? ) and Stuart tracked it to a location up the road, a friend went to the location found the car and sat with it until Police arrived. Apparently it's not in the best shape but he has it coming back !!! 2
Admin Vista Posted May 31, 2014 Admin Report Posted May 31, 2014 At least it's coming home in some shape or other, a shame Kent Police didn't react more quickly. What's happened to the car?
Savvi Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Stuart doesn't know damage as yet but it seems he was told it wasn't in good shape, he's arranging to get it collected hopefully today, im guessing he's going to need somewhere to store it if anyone local may be able to help, as I know he kept it on his drive at home. I've met him a couple of times and he's a nice genuine guy, think he's going to need some help in getting it back together again.

I guess he won't be coming tomorrow now as he's had some bad luck with the Cortina recently too
stuartp Posted May 31, 2014 Author Report Posted May 31, 2014 the car is safe, they will be checking it for fingerprints so I can't get it back for a few days. the description they gave me when they picked it up wasn't great but i'll happily take it back in whatever condition it's in over never seeing it again! thanks for the support here and on Retards Club not sure what i'll be doing in the future, it's made me think I should just drive a boring modern that doesn't stand out my mum and dad always said it's not worth having anything nice 1
Mrs O/H/C Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Gutted for you , glad your getting it back but doesn't make it any nicer !!! Hope the damage is not too bad
dustydog Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Glad its back surprised Kent police took so long just proves that trackers work
banarama Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 glad you got it back stuart, I no how you feel mate. but if you had no tracker youd proberly not seen it again
Blimey Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Make an official complaint to the bumbling coppers who never had the balls to look for it properly!
mk2 mike Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 I was informed of this last night. As my FB is monitored by certain departments at work I was unable to post on there. But I'm Glad you got it back mate. Its things like that make me embarrassed to be a copper. Kent police don't have the best reputation amongst the other forces. My mrs is a scout leader and one of the other leaders stole £80k from their account and Kent police refused to investigate even though the bloke admitted it, and they had statements to prove it! I'd be tempted to ask for a written explanation as to why they failed to retrieve it from the site, then make a complaint and go to the press. It won't help fix your car but it might make them decide differently in the future if it happens to someone else.

Hope its in not too bad a state. 1
