Mr Sam Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i dont get why people put volvos down so much there fantastic cars built to last and last they do we had a 944 with over 400k on the clock when we sold it at one point we had 7 volvos ahhh those were the days and the 740 turbo is about 180 brake stock soon as that turbo spools up and gets the old hunk moving they really are about the best cars to have id love one just running costs.......and oneday maybe just oneday ill have 740 turbo running gear in a fiesta
xpackken Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i fooking hate the bitchs . stupid blinding lights .. _________________ Ferrari 166
BIGKEV Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I can certainly vouch for the Volvo being quick - its mega quick - It used to be a Wildlife ambulance and when it mists up you can still see where the stickers were lol Oh and did anyone see Em's Burnout in it at the Ace ??? Granted loads of cars got in the way lol - God Bless the turbo vulva
Kieran Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 We used to have a Yellow Volvo T5-R and that was quick
Admin Vista Posted February 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted February 19, 2007 I think Volvos are marmite cars, you either love em or hate em, and I'm afraid I'm the latter. I accept they're strong and that some of them have poweful engines, but they need them as almost all but the newest ones have the aerodynamics of a house brick. And lets face it, they ain't gonna win any beauty contests either are they?
Pipster007 Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 And lets face it, they ain't gonna win any beauty contests either are they? Only with the exception of the P1800 But I know what you mean
Mr Sam Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i love the brickness mates 940 has ground to a holt but has some real tasty bits and once done should have about 500 at the rear wheels theres a most fantastic video of a guy in the states with a twin turbo corvette V8 in a more modern one....going sideways at about 100 in some suburbs
Admin Vista Posted February 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted February 19, 2007 And lets face it, they ain't gonna win any beauty contests either are they? Only with the exception of the P1800 But I know what you mean You're right that is a pretty car, there is an exception to every rule. Shame they never equipped it with a really quick engine.
72mk1escort Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Heres a picture of our driveway You can see far left the 850SE Middle the 940LPT Celebration Estate and far right the Volvo 760GLE 2.8 V6 If you ask me the Blue 940 looks the part
petrolhead Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I like that blue 940 alot. I've got a T5 myself as the family car, they are quick. I've had mine wheelspinning at 80mph on the motorway in the wet. It's 240bhp standard but only a chip away from 310bhp, which is a bit of a waste of time with FWD because it struggles to get the power down even in the dry. You can set the cruise control to 150mph (allegedly)!!!!!! Not a patch on Audi RS4/ BMW M5 though!
60ftman Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 .....AND WELCOME TO THE 'OLD SKOOL VOLVO' APPRECIATION PAGES. I've actually got a non-Ford on my driveway, but that's only 'cos Ford don't make motorbikes!!!
