Found some more images of it online, looks like it's just an allegro body grafted onto a Corvette chassis. Madder than a box of frogs!

It's not an Allegro now though, well just it's shell, I had a Morris 1100 it was the worst car I ever owned! bad mechanically and rotten body work it was 6 years old when I bought it, the newest car I had ever owned, the Allegro was the up-dated version but no better!

:-D My Mother loves the old Allegros.

I blew the engine on her Granada when I was 18, gunning it back from Swansea.  I bought an Allegro off a mate (non runner) for £50 while I pulled the engine out of her granny to get the crank reground.

Aggro had it's points closed, so I reset them and it was good to go.  Fixed her Granny for her and she sold the Aggro for £250 to someone she worked with...

I know it is wrong, but I quite like that.

It is great to see that people still do mad stuff like this, the world is a better place for it.

I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be possible for, rules, regs etc being tightened up all the time

Does a Corvette have a chassis? Then it might be possible as Top Gear did a conversion on a TVR - because it had a chassis (not monocoque) they had a lot more freedom with the body.
