Englishbulls Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 Hello fellow OSF devotees, I wanted to ask how many members have more than 1 classic ford? The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking of getting an Anglia and I already have a mk1 Cortina. Is it quite common for people to have more than 1 or is it best to make the one you have the very best you can? Any thoughts welcome. P.S; if you see a mk1 cortina GT today having fun in Brentwood, Ongar or Harlow, it was me..... Cheers!! 1
colr6 Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 Good taste my man, mk1 Tina and an Anglia. Join the club !
Admin Vista Posted July 9, 2016 Admin Report Posted July 9, 2016 Also have two but either way is good.
meXEco Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 Plenty of people have more than one classic ford at a time, we had 3 last year, 2 mk1 2dr escorts and an Anglia, but down to just one escort now, maybe none when its finished as I may sell and replace with something else.
Englishbulls Posted July 9, 2016 Author Report Posted July 9, 2016 Sounds like I should go for it then...........
dalmarshall Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 If you've got the space....why not! Lovely looking mk1 BTW!!
mk1del Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 Good subject , surprising how many folk have got more than one or more cars , been to quite a few car shows over the years, and get chatting to people about their car , quite a few of them have between 2 and ten cars, don't know if its a hoarding issue , nearly always have one or two cars on the road, others they have usually needing bits or full restoration, and if you ask if anything for sale its nearly always don't know or no
eeb43 Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 300e van, 307e van, corsair, 105e, 100e, mk3 zephyr, mk3 zephyr farnham estate, mk2 lotus cortina, and some older fords 1
skeeter Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 I also have more than one car (not including the daily driver), there are a couple of issue to consider that I have worked through; 1) Storage, you need to be able to get both out with equal ease or you will find that you use the one that is easy to get out and leaving the other parked up 2) Cost, if you want both ready to go you need to keep them both with MOT and insurance, not generally a big cost but needs organising. In our household it seems at least one car a month needs an MOT or insurance etc 3) Car type, personally I wouldn't have two cars that are similar in use, for eg both 4 seat saloons or both 2 seat sports cars. For me they need to be different enough to make it a choice based on mood. Hope it helps. Ken
theloudboy Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 I do and I am always on the look out for more if the deal is good

Englishbulls Posted July 10, 2016 Author Report Posted July 10, 2016 Have you come to our old skool ford meet at the white horse it's the last Tuesday of every month mate No, not yet, I am intending to come along to the July meet though. My twin 40's are out of tune I think because when the engine has warmed up, the engine speed is higher and more lumpy and it is then only good to drive if you keep the revs up? I like the Anglia on EBay that is the same colour as my mk1 and I viewed it the other night, it does need some work so the price is quite high but it was a good car overall. It is either that or because the carbs seem to go out of balance quite often, I was thinking of changing the engine to a zetec or duratec with throttle bodies. I would want to get a good price for my existing engine or use it in another car. Decisions, decisions.... Cheers Lee
Englishbulls Posted July 10, 2016 Author Report Posted July 10, 2016 Hi Ken, You make very valid points and well worth considering. buzzard Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 I have 3 mk3 cortinas and my 15 year old lad has a mk5 . At times it can be a strain but I never know what one I would sell .
colr6 Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 I have the Box and a Tina plus mgb gt and a fair few bikes, we are supposed to be downsizing ( well according to the dragon) but if stuff comes my way at the right price it's mine. Just have to build another garage !!

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted July 11, 2016 Moderator Report Posted July 11, 2016 Mk1 and 2 Escort here. One thing Ive noticed though is that when im working on one the other gets pretty much ignored. Just a time and Money thing. Im in a Mk2 phased at the moment so my Twincam gets totally neglected. It just sits there under a cover on stands. It does make me feel one in enough.

Englishbulls Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Posted July 11, 2016 Based on all the views it has made me think about which one should be my other toy and I am now on the look out for an Anglia Van or up rated Anglia. I have cash waiting if anyone knows of a great car available for sale.... This has been a good discussion point. Cheers guys.
colr6 Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 Anglia van would be a cool thing to have. Not to many around but depends on if you want one done or not ?
XjamesX Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 I have two, a mk2 escort and a 100e. Would Definately get another car but not 100% it would be a ford (I have a thing for old fiats atm) Biggest problem is finding somewhere to put them (indoors)
