Hi all

So now running out of important things to do to the car / getting a bit bored with important bits- an i keep looking at the tyres...

A chap I know has a mk1 lotus cortina an told me what he found the best for comfort and look etc

Whilst I'm happy with the front ( can't go any wider as they're almost rubbing )

The back I feel cud do with being an inch or two wider!?

What size tyres do you have on your lotus rims??

I have 185 70 13's ,but you can go as wide as you like as they are so far in from the arch.

puddy :)

You can go above this but is a bit pointless really as you distort the tyre as the rim is to small and would not get any benefit from doing so.

I reckon you could hang 205 60 13's on em if you wanted the really fat look .

People used to fit them on mk2 rs2000,s back in the day with 6j rs rims .

puddy :)

I had to wait a few weeks for my Weller 6" to be made. Then they sent me 3x6" and 1x7" but soon rectified the problem. I found them good to deal with and sorted my problem in a couple of days by courier delivery and collect. Unusually for a lot of companies they had good communications, but this was a couple of years ago.

Just thinking out loud......

185 80 r13s on the rear......

I got 165 80s on the front

So a little wider on the back for now, 185s for the width but thinking 80s as the front are 80s already??

Thoughts???

AH ok! So if I were to get 185 70s for the back (sticking with 165 80s on the front ) then would u notice the fronts are 80s an the backs are 70s??

Thought some Eagle eyed might spot the backs are a little shorter?!"

Yes the first figure is the width the second is aspect ratio, don't ask me to explain aspect ratio because I can't remember it was a long time ago !!

It's the percentage of the width.

Ha thanks guys!

Yea I remembered it's width, percentage then rim size but always replaced tyres with identical so never faffed with different sizes!

Just thought knowing my luck I'd put some nice new wider ones on the back an they'd be obviously lower profile than the front lol!
