all of the above were genuine ford upgrades from the series x or motorsport options. and more than likely wouldnt have proof of fitted from new.

Can see this been a ridiculous thing to implement, so your going to tell me there is a person or multiple persons who can tell what should or should not be on a car on a specific timeframe ........DONT think so !  The next problem where are these supposed radically altered vehicles going to be checked,  The local MOT station ....DONT think so  Will test stations be fitted with rolling roads to implement the 15% power increase rule DONT think so. There is going to be so much red tape over people who contest a possible Q plate they won't keep up with it.

thats what we would like to think! but if they do bring it in, it would probably be like a VIC check when buying a vehicle from salvage such as cat c or d. got to be booked in and signed off before it can go on the road. they did scrap that VIC check last year. i dont mind the MOT and checks. but no chance i want a Q reg. insurance is 3 times as dear for a Q. and the overall value go's down too.

I have a 1.3 popular plus, with a couple of modifications,  i dont want to drive a standard pop plus, to me it makes no difference whether it has a v or a q on it number plate, in any case as people have said above its completely un policeable,

if you read it, you will see, we all have to wait till November for how we all will have to comply, as the document at the moment is only a draft, however, how I read it and so do many others, like it or lump it, its happening from May 20th, the centres for checking the vehicles do already exist, its not a DVLA thing, this is EU legislation that the British Government have to implement

I personally cant see that the government will allow the owner to just be able to say "OH IT WAS DONE BEFORE 1988" or the whole thing would be a waste of their time and money, they will want proof, just as I don't think it will be optional by saying that you will still MOT the car

they have related it to the road tax, work it out how much extra revenue they are going to generate again taking away the free road tax on those cars, and the road tax was taken away from the DVLA into the governments hands some while ago, I wonder why

you wont be able to get solicitors to take the DVLA to task, its not their call, its the EU calling the shots

not sure how true it is, but I was told that in Italy, your not even allowed to change the wheels from the ones that came off the line, if that's true, think how lucky we all are

Why will it be dearer? My policy lists all my mods already, car will not be more likely to be stolen or in accident because of a letter change?

if youve ever try'd to insure a Q. a lot of places wont insure them and the ones that will are a fortune. not sure what the reason is but i had a harley on a Q. insurance £550.  sold that, same bike similar mods with a propper reg £120. maybe if theres someone on here that works with insurance could shed some light on it.

more than likely would still put it on a Q. so it would be seen as a modded vehicle and easily be distinctive.

Once a vehicle has been assigned a Q plate you can't get rid of it.

you still got a little 997cc knocking around col to throw in and claim the rest of the anglia are x pack options?
