they would expect you to prove it was! as with everything in this country guilty until proven innocent!

yeah, the lad with xr2 that was with us in the cafe is a mechanic and was was gonna do the mot exam. he sacked it off! cant blame him. but there is lots of ways to get round things that are legal.

I've done mine twice, think I'm the only one who got away with failing the MOT tutors wife's car when it came in !....The saying every dog has its day comes to mind ...LOL

It's a prohibition of movement, he found a faulty brake adjuster on a road side check. My driver said he had great pleasure in issuing it when he knew who's truck it was !!

Spend all that money making the engine go fast.......so why would you put brakes on to slow it down???

1988 relates to the 30 years that the EU legislation actually requires in modified vehicles to be MOT exempt at, although we will adopt the MOT exemption at 40 years, as a result of the consultation

exactly! but go on the IVA site at .gov and you will see. its anything with sharp edges inside or outside the car. even bloody toggle switches. and they cant just be taped up or have pipe lagging over them!

toggle switches behind the steering wheel are ok
