antz Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 ooh much rather have the tina thats for sure!! was he mentally secure? well at the time the cortina was patched to hell with dodgy welding done by the former keeper, leaked like a siz through the roof, and the engine was dodgy. the scimitar was reliable and looked in good nick apart from a key scratch down the passenger side which my dad sprayed himself in the garage. id artaher have the 'tina but at the time back in 1992 it was the sensible thign for him to do. the 'tina is still around fully restored.the scimitar he part exchanged for a fiat panda 4x4 then it was given as compensation to a guy when his car was nicked from teh garage and that was the last of the scimatar we heard but the cortina is still going strong!
RFChris Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Me and a mate cut one up for the engine. Thats about as far as my expierience goes with that particular motor!
mk1mexico Posted September 25, 2006 Author Report Posted September 25, 2006 wont have taken much effort
BIGKEV Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 raced one in the RS - in bracknell on a duel carraigeway - thing ig he saw me whizz past a couple of roundabouts back and we went for it - Russ in the passenger seat shouting " dont let him get you dont let him get you" suffice to say I could just keep in front of him recently restored bright yellow GTE version - very sexy!!!

Rick Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 i think theyre pretty cool... but all older cars do
Danmex Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 I've liked them since I was a kid, a bloke down my road had two, a standard early green one and my favourite a dark blue modified one on Slot mags
cyrix Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Worth a lot of money in spares. Mine was an OK drive but ugly as sin. Was Sh1t brown, Only bought it for the rebuilt motor. You can buy the Rover V8 conversion kit for them though.
