Bought my group 4 shell with no log book. Looking to convert back into road legal car, at the moment there is no chassis number , log book or reg. How can I sort this, is their such a thing of buying an old log book and chassis/vin number or do I have to go to dvla etc?

Good luck with that, the DVLA are well known for being less than helpful with this sort of thing.
Is there no chassis number in any of the old paperwork? or just not physically on the car?

Hate to rain on your parade but I foresee real problems with the DVLA on this. In effect what you have bought is no more than a spare part with no identity.
