  3. TBH i would rather OSF didnt have a section like that, with all the thefts of today, you would just be advertising where the thieves might spot one to follow home and steal
  4. in all seriousness, get another company to re check the wheel balance
  5. wouldnt know about steel braded on an escort, but on my M3, the steel brake pipes have to have the end joint cut off and a different type of fitting put on to fit steel braded hoses, and as far as i can see that goes for all the braided hose manufacturers, and then they dont fit in the bracket securely
  6. ok, where can i get cotton braided brake hoses for the mk1 escort, as thats what my 1300Es had from new, but i cant find replacements at any money
  7. you forgot the space dal, "LEG IT"
  8. its usually because theyve had a good offer on a personal message Colin same thing happened to the wife this afternoon, shes now upset as she wanted to win it for a christmas present for the daughter tbh, if youve got a wanted commodity for sale on there, you get bombarded with offers
  9. personally, i would leave the stripe off, and go with that chrome and blacked out window theme, it does gel
  10. with total espect Scott, you obviously have the money to keep throwing at your cars without worrying, im not saying that is wrong, in fact its nice to see your cars kept that way, and yes your right, they were designed to be driven, but you have to look at the other side of the coin, firstly, most of us dont have the money to keep throwing at them, we get one chance, and when you get into it that deep financially, trailer queens are often the result, not intentional, thats life, and in most instances, me included, we didnt start out the restoration to necesarily to either go that deep or expect to go that deep, again it becomes addictive and financially keeps the most poor, and thats why some people spend donkeys years doing their cars up, becuase they become that animal and financial pit most cant really afford, resulting in that frightened to drive condition For me, the original question said it all, the questions asked, means to me, that there is not necesarily fortunes available to spend on it, if there was, the questions would never have been asked
  11. as a bare shell, stripped to bare metal, just to paint, no welding/repair or replacement of panels, but filling any voids amd making panels look right where needed, i would expect 5-10k, depending on spray shop, anything less would be a sub std job, and the more you pay the better the job what i would say is this, dont ever fall into the trap its not rusty or even rotten, as unless the car has been through a recent resto, you may not be able to see it, and the moment you start removing parts to spray a car, you will find it, believe me my advice would be to accept its there, seen or not, but use the car, until the point it either becomes an MOT issue or you cant live with it any further, then go down the road of a resto, as once you start, it just keeps on coming theres also the part, where once you go past a certain stage, ie the fortune you have spent on that paint job, you become frightened to use the car for the risk of damage to it, another reason to enjoy it first
  12. agree and disagree, the first 5000 1300Es went through the AVO plant, and all had the chrone window trim
  13. ha ha lol, you would have to have some references to get a spin in it that quick
  14. im going, the escort in the sig is in the process of resto unfortunately, see 1300E resto 2 in restorations, ive only just started it TBH also see 1300E resto, this ones finished i wont be taking it, purely because this will be my first time at all ford day at Battlesbridge, as normally we are on holiday, so, i really want to have a relaxing day walking around rather than being worried about some herbert damaging it or putting a tracker on it may take it in September tho

  18. changed mine to historic at the post offce at the begining of the month, i was under the impression before i went that it had to be done at time of taxing, so MOT and insurance would apply, but she offered me the option to tax or sorn, but that was after she checked insurance and mot were in place
