  1. some tyres suffer from hot flat spotting, its more common in light aircraft than cars tho, if this happens, the tyre can usually be salvaged by getting it warm again while rolling with the weight on it, or deflating and leaving flat for a period before re inflating (no weight on it) it occurs when the tyre was sat there warm with weight on then allowed to cool, once cool it sets with a small flat spot where it was sat on the tarmac however, if it dosnt cure it, certainly on an aircraft, the tyre is scrap, aircraft line engineers often refer to it as an oval tyre

  5. well i was a very torn voter that voted out, and i still stand by it, been saying for years, the country is not run by anything but the same set of civil servants, regardless of which party is elected the pm is just a scape goat when it goes seriously wrong we need control of our country back, as do the rest of Europe, and become a world of separate countries again, and i hope we are the first of many to follow however, i will say, that if i was still a working man, and ran the company i used to have, then my vote would have had to go the other way, as the knee jerk reaction in the dollar rate alone, i would have had to make redundancies, as it is an industry that works by the dollar, and that just made the company too expensive to compete without doing so, but it also relies on the most of Europe for its business we now need to make the most of the opportunities ahead, as a country we need to unite, if politicians are not doing the job of making us great again, then their heads need to be replaced with someone that can we need a leader with Bollox, (a doris usually fits this bill quite well, merkel and thatcher spring to mind)
  6. i check mine every day, how can you go 6 months, especially in that little garage, i dont even trust the alarms and fort knox door systems lol

  8. i had this with my i phone, and all it was, is i had the phone on the wrong side (effectively upside down) when i took the photos, then from there, if tried to view it the right way, the stupid device turned it upside down, basically telling me i was wrong as it was taken that way up, and when i loaded to the PC the ones that had done that were all upside down bet the i pad is the same cant beat a proper camera

    Anodising

also, whilst ford did use aircraft type nuts and bolts back then, it was because of cheap availability, i cannot belive that Ford would have gone to that expense of annodising a grill back then

    Anodising

anything like the escort grills appear to look anodised, but tbh i think they are just polished like that, as all the forming die marks are still present in the un polished areas, as well as if they were anodised the coulour and grain of the metal would be different all experience i have of it is fairly limited to sending it to be done, but it was always good quality thick aircraft aluminium, std (not coloured) always came back with the metals grain visable, (it did look good) i was always taught that annodising actually removes material, not put it on like when you plate steel
  12. it would bemore use in cutting off her wedding ring rather than your wedding tackle, as without you showing her she, would never understand how to use it, as its not white

  14. why not just but yourself an ultrasonic cleaner
  15. you put in a claim on their insurance, most insurance companies will increase your premium, insured no claims is a con, it dosnt stop them increasing the premium my daughters car was stolen, the car wasnt worth a claim, but the police said the insurance company still had to be notified, as if the thieves hurt anyne, the claim has to come off her insurance, the car was actually recovered and suspects caught, as they drove thru an ANPR camera, but now she has to declare it when getting new quotes, even though no claim was made, this years premium went up over £100 on a new quote and by over £400 with the existing insurer, she changed insuer, but still has to declare it next year

    bad week

tjank you, will take a look
  20. had a bad week on the car first the replacement door cards were the wrong size and shape, despite being genuine ford, then the repro wheel arch covers are so bad its untrue, 3 sets, one from each of east kent trim, aldridge and classic trim, that im having to get a set made at a trimmers, then i tried to fit a NOS carpet that i had dyed black, thats shrunk in the process and the pile has turned sour, i tried to colour another NOS one without success, both were originally tan, so then for something different, i decided to fit the dash switch panel, onl to find the NOS choke cable too short, so i fitted the old cable, now its been a couple of months since i started the car, but it was running swet 2 months ago, now it wont start, firstly i have no spark at any of the 4 plugs, but when i removed the plugs after trying, 1 and 4 plugs were dry as a bone, 2 and 3 were flooded, cleaned the plugs and tried again, only for the starter motor to give up, as it was turning the engine, it just stoped as if a brake had been applied to it, now i just clicks, put a remote starter occross the terminals of the solenoid and nothing apart from the remote starter wires get very hot very quick, put a brand new solonoid on, and no different, so i know it isnt that so at this point i gave up, put the cover on the car about 1pm and decided to do something totally different lol electronic ignition is not a road i wanted to go down really, as i wanted to keep originality, but i cant go thru this every time, so does anyone have any recomendations as to make etc that are readily available, as i hear so many horror stories, and it must maintain the rev counter back in the day, you could get a little unit that strapped to the side of the distributor and a liitle bit replaced the points, these maintained the rev counter, are these even still available im not looking for anything other than simplicity, most things today like to be over complicated for their own good any advice greatly appreciated

  25. stay well clear of classic trim mate unless you do absolutely everything via e-bay using paypal, that way you can get your money back when he tries to rip you off, this guy does 2 types, grp and when available vinyl covered originals that are damaged, i wasnt too impressed with the vinyl covered one yuk speed do them but dont know what the quality is like there is also the option of buying a damaged original and buying one of the leather covers on e-bay there are also some trimmers that can repair the originals providing the damage is not too severe originals are hard to come by and in good condition fetch silly money
