i'd have priced that at 600 quid tops. pintos are still common on ebay. i keep snapping 205 and 202 block bottom ends up for 100 quids. there are dreamers out there though asking silly money.

well i was out on the bike today and passed a motorbike cop he put his hand up at me so i gave him a polite nod back. went passed him as he was watching me and was expecting to get a pull for my black rear plate but he seemed to leave me alone.

Just testing the water really, got a spare 205 pinto bottom end with RS 2000 alloy sump and pick up pipe. condition unknown as i bought it as a spare but would recommend a rebuild. no flywheel. £450.

the first 2 are the ones fitted with the mirrors. the later 2 are the ford parts bin taxis. the front actually looks like mk2 granny and not mk5 cortina. been a while since i've looked at one.

they probably do have ford part number. as a lot of the old black cabs were made up from a lot of ford parts. the later black cabs upto N reg had these mirrors fitted as standard. google for images. we used to use these mirrors in the late 90s when black cabs were in scrapyards and with nothing like forums, not everybody knew of them! the later squarer black cabs used even more parts from the ford bin, such as 2.5 di tranny engines, cortina mk5 headlights and escort cabby rear lights.
