BIG G Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 My dad has just given me his pretty mint standard mk1 mexico in maize yellow. the engine is as standard and never been touched so lacks a bit of grunt. Im only used to driving rs turbos that are front wheel drive and so wish to convert the mex to front wheel drive as well.as they handle better.has anyone ever done it an will the rst engine box go straight in. i think it will make a brilliant car .

No, sell the Mex and get an allegro. Then fit the RS Turbo to that.
Arched Escy Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 This is nearly as bad as the RS1800 thread in the Mk1/Mk2 Escort section!

James HPE Motorsport Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Ive just spent the weekend converting my Mk2 to one wheel drive using a 2hp Briggs and Stratton engine, goes like the clappers and handles better than a skateboard!!!
