marky4 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 mate don't take any notice you can write how you want
Admin Vista Posted April 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted April 18, 2007 Write how you want, but what I would say is that some people (myself included) find text speak very difficult to get along with. I realise that's not what you're doing but at first glance it appears that way and may put some people off reading further. I wouldn't take it to heart though, I'm sure there are things you can do that others can't so just ignore any criticism.
mk3cokebottle Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 tell whoever it is ta feck off nxt time ya see em mate then tell em ta f*ck off again when they say sorry !!!!!! i can read it
Retromotorsport Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 carnt thick people drive osf As long as they fit in the car ... why how wide are you as you say your " thick" Some of the best inventors and designers cant spell. Ben Bowlby, cheif designer at Lola Cars is dyslicx (and who invented that word..they want shooting) Sir Clive Sinclair and his 3 sons are too .. Too be honest with you, people who can't spell don't bother me, people who use exsessive text spelling can make a post hard to read, where as a misspelled word is hardly noticed. In your post above , there are a few spelling mistakes, but there is also the txt talk, the spelling i can read, i have to look closer at the txt speak. Maybe its because i havn't grown up with it, or maybe i'm thick and can't understand a simple code. you used both "the" and "da" ... well Da to me is a DA sander or yes in russian .. Vista has put across how you should think.... "I wouldn't take it to heart though, I'm sure there are things you can do that others can't so just ignore any criticism." the only criticism i would say is could you just try to hold back on the txt talk
Osgood Isgood Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I'll add my tuppence worth to the general consensus matey, don't worry about it. What you post is more important than how you spell it! I don't recall anyone having to sit an exam to join this forum, just the owning or admiration of OLD SKOOL FORDS is qualification enough for me!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 One of my favourite sayings come to mind here mate.... Nobody's perfect... So you carry on mate
Burns Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 if you can't spell it mate, don't worry about it nobody's gonna have a go at you for that. i personally don't like using numbers instead of writing (eg. 4 instead of four) cos it gives me headaches to read, but that's just me
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted April 18, 2007 I have a problem with text speak (shortened words) because I just don't understand it. I would much rather read words that are spelt incorrectly than text speak because at least I can understand them better. No-one on here should judge you on your inability to spell Stu ... just type it how you can and we'll work it out

No-one on here should judge you on your inability to spell Stu ... just type it how you can and we'll work it out Im with Jo here, I somtimes struggle to understand text speak, probably cos Im an old fart, but thats my problem TBH im not worried about the spelling thing, usually I can work out most words, but If you are worried about your spelling use a spell checker, I know the latest windows has one in the top bar of the page, but it probably wont be able to work out text speak, Ian
S2 Dee Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Stu, Pay no heed to them mate. I have read a few of your posts and never have trouble with them. Like some of the others I don’t always understand text speak, too old / stupid I suppose. On a different note your motor was looking fine at Box Hill
Daggle Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 tell whoever it is ta feck off nxt time ya see em mate then tell em ta f*ck off again when they say sorry !!!!!! i can read it That's helpful
105Speed Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Some of the best inventors and designers cant spell.Ben Bowlby, cheif designer at Lola Cars is dyslexic (and who invented that word..they want shooting) So Gary... does this mean, if you cant spell but invent cool stuff you're a genius.. However if you cant spell and you dont invent anything you're just a thick twat... ??? Stu, if you are having problems with spelling, then deliberately mis spelling words in the form of Text Talk isn't going to help you. Text Talk just sucks as you can see most people hate it... save it for your phone As has been suggested try using the Firefox web browser as that has a spell checker in it... thats how I found out how to spell dyslexic Most people would prefer poor spelling to Text Talk
scrouge2005 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 just ignore tossers who judge ........they just ave an inferiority complex...
antz Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 i can understand it perfectly fine. dont let others get to you
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 just ignore tossers who judge ........they just ave an inferiority complex... Are you not making a judgement yourself with that statement?
105Speed Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 just ignore tossers who judge ........they just ave an inferiority complex... Are you not making a judgement yourself with that statement? Careful Mike you are about to create a paradox in which the Smart / Dumb Balance can never be restored....
Mr.Sumo Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Its a bit pathetic to have a pop at someone because they can"t spell , don"t you think ? Some people should get a life . You carry on Stu , never had a prob reading 99% of all posts , whoever has written them ..... but i must admit , some text speak gets a bit , shall we say , annoying
alladdin Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 as others have said i prefer mis spelling to text talk tho im another dinasaur. i always think i can spell untill i read my posts
