Throwing as much money as can at your car, to bolts as much stuff on like LSD's, 2.2's, Straight cuts, perspex windows, buckets seats and roll cages!

OR

Doing what you can with what you can! And enjoying it to the max!

I sometimes forget

It may just be me but i see so many cars being built and lots of money being spent but never see the car on the scene!

The RS polishers are the worst  , my mates have got mint mexicos that only leave their air tight cocoons for 1 car show a year , they even park them in the same spot when they get there as the years before !!!!!!!!!:shock::shock:

There's a bloke with an RS turbo mk1 in the flats near my mates house that's had £20,000 spent on it . He won't drive it though incase it gets stone chips or dirty , he won't take it to shows ( even on a trailer ) incase someone leans on it , so he just stands over it most sundays with a feather duster which he flicks the dust off with !!!!!!!!!

It's all about what people want to do as far as I'm concerned ..... if people don't want to bring their cars out then it's up to them although it is a shame that you don't get to see them but I don't think there's a right or wrong.

As for bolting bits on and spending money .... don't see a problem there either ...... if people have the money then it's up to them

What Jo said ^^^

If it makes them happy then that's all the matters, I know a couple of guys who blow significant lumps of money on gambling - they enjoy it, to me its a waste but its their thing.

Ok so Mr 20k RSt is scared to take it out on the roads but he is preserving a future OSF.

Being critical about someone elses choice won't make any difference to them, lifes too short to get caught up in the pedantic stuff. I swear I'm becoming a hippy

I'm of the train of thought that its up to people to do what they want, if they paid for it, then crack on, if you don't want to drive properly then don't but you don't know what your missing and YFKT :thumbsup:

MK2JO : I understand what your saying but it makes for an expensive ornament if you just polish a car and never use it . May as well stick it in a museam on loan and save road tax and mot !

I've got no money, I had only enought to buy the mex then I've saved up for major panels that I can't make and made the rest myself, I like the budget approach, it gives you a big sense of accomplishment. :D8)

I plan on finishing the mex for under 2k but if I have to I'll stretch to 3k but it'll take me ages to save that much up
