4parajon Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I'm not after any advice or anything, just thought I would share just how big a cock Ive been. Ive been married for 6 years and Ive known my missus (Karen) for 8 years in total. You would think I would have a good grip on birthdays etc by now would'nt you????? Well you would be wrong, soooo wrong. My wife's birthday is on the 9th June which she kindly reminded me of at the weekend because I'm apparently taking her out that night, now you maybe thinking "whats wrong with that" well guess who's bought tickets and told everyone who will listen that he is going camping at the Pod that weekend for what is (to me anyway) the holy grail of all things OSF based. Ive been looking forward to this for months and now it might look like I might just be there for the Sunday The only thing I can offer my missus is maybe doing something on the night before or weekend before/after but she hates the car and this will only add more fuel to the fire of "you put that before me/kids/house/everything else" arguement so I spose Ive only got myself to blame really. :roll I just know this is gonna cost me big style, she's been after a Tag watch for ages and Ive always told her there too expensive
mk2_escort_chick Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Get her something really nice, go out and have a good time (obviously before cf). Then arrange a babysitter for the 9th and tell her to go out with the girls? I dont know, Im poo at these things
Burns Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 lots of presents and grovelling and don't be an ass next time
Pye Man Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 ouch, thats got to hurt mate. Yeah, Sweeten her with the watch.
4parajon Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 Just to put you all in the picture about the watch she wants http://www.tagwatchesdirect.co.uk/tag_h ... a0580.html Ive got things to buy for the capper you know
Pye Man Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Jesus christ!!! They do em a lot cheaper in Turkey!!
luz008 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 http://www.cool-watches.com/replica-wat ... ph-30.html get one of these mate - its not a fake - its a replica - exactly the same as the original. i friend of mine bought a replica tag last year and the quality is excellent then you can sweeten her up - then get off to the pod for some serious drinkin
Burns Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 it's not exactly the same dude, i can spot a load of differences, and if i can, she will
Chris! Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 just buy her the watch then all will be well! what would you rather have parts for ur car or a wife thats doesnt go mad at you! also everytime she argues with u in the future you can remind her of the watch lol
Admin Vista Posted May 29, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 29, 2007 http://www.cool-watches.com/replica-watch-tag-heuer/Tag-Heuer-Link-Quartz-Chronograph-30.html get one of these mate - its not a fake - its a replica - exactly the same as the original. i friend of mine bought a replica tag last year and the quality is excellent then you can sweeten her up - then get off to the pod for some serious drinkin Ummmmm surely if you're passing a replica off as the real thing then it is a fake. And if you bought one as a gift for a loved one without telling her it's not the real deal stand by to have your sensitive bits removed when she finds out. As for Jons dilemma, mate I'd go with doing something special with your wife. Much as I love my car and attending classic Ford events in it, it will not punish me or make me suffer for failing to look after it or take care of it. It will also still be there just as keen a willing to go out the next time I get around to it. A doris on the other hand has a particularly deceptive way of making you think you're forgiven and then pulling the rug out from underneath you when you least expect it! So either abandon CF altogether and take her out, or book a weekend away the weekend after. Spring it on her as a surprise and tell her that the "cottage" (insert appropriate venue) was booked up for her birthday weekend. A nice watch may cost a few bob, but will eventually break down, get lost or similar. A memory of a special weekend will last forever.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Oh dear. I made a cock up too. My wife is off to see medium Colin Fry on the 10th in York, so there's no one to babysit five year old Amelia. It's been booked since August last year!! So she's coming with me, and she's all excited because we're going to be camping!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted May 29, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 29, 2007 Take her away somewhere nice the week-end after and say that was the only date available for the place you really wanted to take her ... then get something nice booked PDQ
luz008 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 that watch is different as its the mens version but you can get the womens one too. i wasn't implying to not tell her its a replica (although there's an idea??) would she come with you to the show? take her out for something special either before or after?
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I've just run this past my wife. This is what she said: 'Does she need someone to talk to? I can relate to what she's going though, poor doris.' Then she went on to suggest what Vista has suggested. So either abandon CF altogether and take her out, or book a weekend away the weekend after. Spring it on her as a surprise and tell her that the "cottage" (insert appropriate venue) was booked up for her birthday weekend. So, book a weekend away as a big suprise but tell her that you couldn't get the weekend of her birthday. Make such a fuss of her that weekend. AND buy her the Tag watch because you felt so guilty about not being able to get her birthday weekend. Then when you tell her the CF show is the weekend of her birthday, she won't be too bothered because you've already given her the watch and the weekend away.
4parajon Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 Thanks for all the advice. Scott - I have this image of you sat in a cave somewhere in the mountains sat on a rug with a long straggly beard offering kind words of wisdom to all us idiots Think the watch is the best bet as that is what she has said she wants and we have just been on holiday......not sure though if even that is good enough to get me a weekend pass, we'll have to see

Osgood Isgood Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Mate, you know, I know, and every married bloke on here knows, that if you don't take her out on that Saturday night, even if you could give her the moon instead, you will be in deep doggy stuff for years and years and years and years and years to come! Despite my bravdo in my tag line, I'd take her out mate, and settle for Sunday at the pod, otherwise just give her the keys to the house before you go !
Mr.Sumo Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I didn"t know whether to laugh or cry at your situation Jon.....good luck m8
Slik 50 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I have to agree with evry one here mate. I wouldnt dare go on the Sunday, and if she is anything like my missus she will see straight through any white lies you come up with.
Trevmk3 Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 good luck jon, get her a casio and tell her to make do with it
Jay_harrier Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 If there's one thing I've learnt the hard way (too many times...), swallow your pride, give in & buckle for her!, you're life can be really rough or smooth depending on which way you go with this one!. Why not shack up in a local hotel (to the pod), do the whole meal, spoil her thing, then either take her to the pod on Sunday or pack her off shopping/beauty spa or similar. Not the cheapest option but huuuge brownie points as long as the scheme isn't rumbled...
Wessie Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 jon it sounds like youre gonna have to miss CF if its a matter of going to CF or keeping the mrs happy i know whick one i'd choose . . . . . (you'll never hear the last of it if you went on the sunday) take her away for the weekend and let me look after the capri
4parajon Posted June 1, 2007 Author Report Posted June 1, 2007 Just an up date for you all As I have'nt given up yet I mentioned to my mate who lives next door the other day about wanting to go to the Pod and it clashing with Karens birthday, and after much laffing on his part he told me he did'nt think I'd be going either Anyway, it seems my missus has told his missus that she has arranged for her parents to come over (who live in Wales I might add) and babysit while she takes me out for a surprise meal on her for her birthday. My mate next door told me last night as he thought I should know...even though he would be spoiling the surprise. Im screwed are'nt I???? I'm still gonna try and come down on the Sunday, get there nice and early so I can wake up all the happy campers
RFChris Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I'm still gonna try and come down on the Sunday, get there nice and early so I can wake up all the happy campers You......fooking......dare. Good luck mate, just stop stressing about it and have a nice night with the Mrs. Chris
