Hi all,

I'm looking to get back into oldschool and with a company focus as my daily driver, im looking to spend about 3k on a nice tidy mk1, or mk2 escort 2 door.

I cant beleive how expensive these things have got, in the space of 3 year (since I sort of packed in this expensive hobby!)

Is it just me or are there not many resonable cars around anymore :(. I'm starting to think that finding a good solid car in this kind of a budget is goign to be rather hard to do :(

you are going to be pretty lucky and hope to find your neighbour selling one for that price .

you will need to be prepared to do some work on any you get for that price .

for a 2 door youl end up paying silly money.

the alternative is to buy a scrapper and get to work (like i did) but even then youl spend a fortune its just spread over a longer time period.

then theres the 4 doors which are also starting to go up in value now that no1 can afford a 2 door, so act quick. :-)

i know of a good 2door mk2 in orange but some1 has cut the roof off :lol:

hush boy :P.

You seem to be able to pick up a resonable one for £3.5 k, 4 seems to be more the mark though.

I'm liking the insurance now though, last time I insured a mexico mk2 its was £1800 per year, now its £300 :D!
