Don't want to jump on the ban wagon here but this is "oldskool!!!!FORD!!!!"

Don't slate me and call me narrow minded, i love lots of different makes of classic cars. But the is a forum about old skool FORDS, and the scene associated with old skool fords. From what i can gather your all great people and have been very accepting, and appreciative of other peoples views about classics. I think this is one of the best car "Scene's" around. a nice mix of styles and view....rat rods alongside concourse stunners !!!!!

So Fook PPC........We stood out in the pissing rain today (bromley padgent) letting our osf's be enjoyed and admired by the public embracing the spirit of osf life. Driving and enjoying our cars...Not Shammy'ing our mg's and austin healey's becouse it's raining.......

Think of it like football. Everyone supports England, but when the league is involved, your local team comes first (or Man U if you're not from Manchester - Sorry Jon!) and you'll do what you can to support it.

So while the whole picture is classic cars (or specifically Fords in our case) we prefer our own club/website to the one in the next town.

Avo suck.

You feel like an outsider if you don't have an avo.

Osf [iS] the best colective i have ever come across.

I'm proud to be a member and don't give a flying fook about what AVO or PPC or any other un related group or individual thinks.

Were spot on

Nonsense, there are plenty of AVO club members on here, myself included. Every AVO club member I have met has utmost respect for how much work any owner of any classic ford puts into owning and maintaining their cars. Like some other users on here I use the AVO board too and have yet to see any derogatory comments from anyone on there about any other club or forum.

If you can in someway justify your statement AVO suck, I'll happily listen to any genuine grievances you have.

Just as an aside, it's being a member of the AVO club that enables me to tap into the mine of information available from it, this allows me to help a good number of people on here with some of the more obscure escort related info. If you'd like me to refrain from lending that kind of assistance then please say so.

Justified........

Ok...............

AVO seemed condisending ???? if thats the way to put it.

I was overly negative in that post..............

I'm sure Avo are a very knowligeable and helpful bunch, but it's not really my scene. Would have been a better way to have said it.

I and i'm sure other users massivly appreciate the insight you and the AVO can offer to osf.

But i stand by all my other posts !!!!!!

another argument thread

anyone fancy summarising for me?

Its apparent there is a minority on this forum who like the attention they get from posting there opinions,if the truth be known they like to hide behind there computor screen and post shit and sit back and laugh at the reaction they receive, its a big game they like to play.

Not the sort of members you need to represent a growing club, especially if they hide behind the OSF banner on other sites to spread there personal views which may not be the collective veiws of the club therefore giving other clubs the wrong impression. :(

And the moral of the story is = A scene is only "naff" if the products/cars from that scene are "naff" e.g. plastic hot hatches with 19 inch chrome spinners , pearlesant pink paint , yellow leather interiors , neons , 8 exhaust tail pipes and a mesh filled front air dam :dope: . If people started to do that to a mk1 escort etc then we would/should quite rightly be called "naff" . I only see a few "naff" oldskool motors these days and they are usually owned by people from the previous "scene" who once had "naff" modified golfs/rs turbos/ novas etc and it takes them a while to get the bolt on goodie fetish out of their system . Some people will always have "naff" motors though and they will moan and sob about all the traditonal styled cars saying "But they all look the same , i've made mine look different " . Well different it may be but normally "naff" is a better word !!!!!!!!!!! :ykt:

Ive never understood why groups dont get on?

Ive always wanted to find a car club that just accepts any car, but it seems no such thing exists.

Im not big into some shows and meets. Most Ford stuff ive been to has been great. The people really nice, and a great atmosphere, but a total escort fest. Not only that but it was split into two groups, old skool and new skool. It was not blended at all. All the new stuff was RS focus's and Essy Cossies, anything less was deemed unsuitable. It seemed in all circumstances, if the car wasnt perfect, it belonged in the outside car park. Im not a big fan of that to be honest, not everyone can afford a mint second car, some cant even afford a second car. Of course i love to nose around the lovely prepared and obviously well loved cars, but they dont inspire me as much as a well used car. I do notice, and respect the fact that on here, i havnt been abused for owning a triumph yet, its a shame that doesnt run through the whole scene.

Im not big into the Triumph scene because theyre too hell bent on concourse and dtandard cars. Theyre a touch too old for me too. Ive got nothing against it, its just not me.

Last month at the Wirral meet there was a few none osf's turned up. When i got there i was bloody made up. I love to see variety at meets and shows.

I dont get why some stuff is frowned upon. Even if a couple of kids turned up in silly corsas and saxos, as long as they where respectfull towards others i wouldnt mind them being there. Id even have a look over there cars to see what a mess theyd made of it.

I know you get classic car shows, but theyre again all standard cars, and the average age is 73.

The Retro show ive seen advertised looks like what im after, but i cant go this year. If it turns out to have a good atmosphere, and all groups being friendly, i can see it becoming the biggest event of the year.

PPC having a go at OSF is just ridiculous. For a start they dont have a scene anywhere as near as vibrant as we do, or even a show season. They just have a couple track days or something. They seem to think theyre the be all and end all of cars, and theyre clearly not (although i like the fact they feature a wide variety of cars, but they do seem to stick to the same sort of car). I dont think we need to worry about them at all.

Rant over. Im fairly sure thatll piss someone off, but i think i have some valid points.

If you want to argue, F-off to Turbosport or the like!

You're as bad as one another for taking the bait! Like someone said, its easy to hide behind a computer screen! And let face it, if this was a conversation at a pub, im sure we wouldnt be punching each others lights out because somene said that they thought Pearlescent Corsa's with 19inch wheels are crap. NO you'd bite your tongue!

Just my little lecture  NUFF SED
