mossy Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Whats the weight of a pinto...less flywheel, starter ect..? Seemed heavier then i remember moving it yesterday.
mossy Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 Lol...no wonder i couldnt lift it then... Got it half out the boot of the car and then got stuck...was just looking at it for about 15mins while it balanced half on my leg and half on the car!
Twinkle Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Lol...no wonder i couldnt lift it then... Got it half out the boot of the car and then got stuck...was just looking at it for about 15mins while it balanced half on my leg and half on the car! i know what you mean m8, i picked up my zetec and lifted it onto the engine stand without a problem then when to try the same with one of my pinto's and nearly herniated myself
john_3.0s Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 yeah heav old b@stards, try and lift an essex though..... I once had a competion with a mate to see who could carry 2 xflows at the sme time the furthest with a scaffold pole 'milk maid' style he won
OllieC Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 yeah heav old b@stards, try and lift an essex though..... Admin Vista Posted July 5, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 5, 2007 Always the X - flow boys with the anchor jokes as they cross the finish line in 2nd place No points for 2nd best guys
Rick Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Always the X - flow boys with the anchor jokes as they cross the finish line in 2nd place No points for 2nd best guys tis true
H.P.E harry Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Always the X - flow boys with the anchor jokes as they cross the finish line in 2nd place No points for 2nd best guys tis true Not always true
escort21 Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Disagree there Vista..its more satisfying whooping larger engined car in a nicely put together xflow.....the only reason i'd buy a pinto is to anchor my boat ..there are some wicked xflows out the ...fancy giving Fiesta Steve a race then Vista??
fezza Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Got to agree with the two posts above, extra capacity doesnt mean its faster,i embaressed many a pinto on twin webers when i had my xflow and that was in a fiesta dont matter what you start with, its how you build what you've got
Admin Vista Posted July 5, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 5, 2007 You'd need a mighty powerful X-flow to embarress mine, and a Fester isn't that much lighter than a mk1 Escort
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 pintos are heavy ive too tried lifting one couldnt believe the weight
fezza Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Deffo some sorted pintos out there but bigger is'nt always better
mk2 matt Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 One of dads mates has mk2 hill climb car with a 190bhp xflow. It,s not very often he gets beat, specially by a pinto that weighs twice as much
Fiesta Steve Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 There was a track day somewhere recently, can't remember where. There was a black Fiesta leaving lots of Pinto powered cars for dust, some of them big power cars on 48's etc..
Guest MK1gaz Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 I think a x-flow is only 10 kilos lighter than a pinto so don't get too exited
Fiesta Steve Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 I think a x-flow is only 10 kilos lighter than a pinto so don't get too exited I've heard that too, and as Vista says the Fiesta isn't much lighter than an Escort.
Guest MK1gaz Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Has anyone got a x-flow handy to weigh then ? I can weigh a pinto saturday morning for you as there's one on the floor of my mates workshop
Fiesta Steve Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 I have a crossflow close to hand too. It has no ancillaires (sp) but has a flywheel. Won't be able to weigh it until Sunday though. It would be nice to find out once and for all, and not just what people have heard.
