that is the nuts but i think you have to remove most of the writing cos its linked. :)

OK.... I've made a few changes to my original design so that the main image background can 'sit' directly under all the existing layers. I've also sliced each of the component images for the main navigation and the four image links on the main page. I've named those off the same as the current site's images and posted the whole lot up here:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobpetrie/osf.htm

In theory, it should be possible to replace all the existing images with the new images and the site's homepage will run exactly as it does now... only the appearance will be different. All the images have the same names, are the same size and can sit in exactly the same positions that the embedded css stylesheet calls for. There should be room in the new design for all the other components too - OSF Kit, Album, Topics, Meets and the Donate button.

If it works, it's a 2 minute job to change the cars on the homepage when new images are available too.

You've done your homework!

Ok, I've put it live for you to all look at. I've kept a copy of the old one incase we need to put it back.

What do you all think?

Cheers thefatcapri. Top job.

Looking good.... although I can see there's a couple of 'issues' to iron out :D

Looks like there's a bit of a problem going on with the images and roll-overs for the OSF Kit, Album, Topics and Meets links. Maybe the script is forcing them smaller? The image sizes matched the originals' display sizes. Nothing too drastic though

I like it - let's see what everyone else thinks

Hang on to the copy of the old one just in case

Don't take it the wrong way but it hurts your eyes a bit........

thinks it got too much contrast

I like the layout but as Wayne says it's a bit heavy on the eyes. I reckon if you change the font so the lettering isn't as stretched then it would be a lot better.

i do like the orange one.....

but the ford part of me says it should be blue

it would be cool if it could load a different car at random when people opend the page.... or it changes with a fade thing lol

ok so im not technical... i dont know what can and cant be done

you could make it in flash and have a change color button on the front page.

I have other vector images I have built of different cars, Thats what i've done for my sig pic & various others.

With flash you could cycle through the colours and fade them into each other - I quite like monchome/silver or rip off a 60's 70's theme as thats when most of the OSF's were concieved.
