antz Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 ive got two dents in the bonnet of the escy and im fed up of everyone going 'nice car, oh did you knwo you have 2 dents in your bonnet?'....i know they arent bad and ive heard from everyone they will come out but i dont know how. i remember someone said sumfin to me about it this weekend but i cant rememer who or what they said. any ideas?...sorry no pics cos they are that shallow they dont show up
Mr Sam Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 cant rember what they call them but saw on tv once this used car garage has a chap that comes out with all the tools (he aint cheap) but he sure can make the dents dissapear you looked around for a different bonnet? and i know how it feels to have a dented bonnet
105E Steve Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 Just look in the yellow pages for smart dent removals. We use them all the time at work, some of them can work magic and love cash jobs as well. Probably looking about £30-40 per panel
orionmojo Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 dentmaster or something. they come to your door and do it on your drive. i thinkits about £60 callout and if it takes longer than 45 mins or something they charge more. bi of advice though is to go on reputation as they're a franchise business and you attend acourse, but the stuff and go it alone so theres bound to be some crap ones. *edit* steve beat me to it
Burns Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 the way i've been told, is to hold a bit of wood on top of your bonnet, then rub it from the inside with the handle of a hammer, dunno how well it would work tho dude
Copey Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 cant you buy suction cup dent pullers for like £15?
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 well antz i didnt notice the dents in your bonnet maybe i was drinking too much did you look at my roof its dented to fook about 3 or 4 dents i want rid of them so if you get a good cure give me a shout
antz Posted August 6, 2007 Author Report Posted August 6, 2007 i dont really wanna spend more money on the car as its cost me enough and im totally skint now ford fair cleared me out i dont wanna get a different bonnet as mines rust free and itd need painting so its not worth it. i might try burns idea but can anyone back up the theory? ive treat suction cups but it wasnt strong enough and just pulled off
Copey Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 ive treat suction cups but it wasnt strong enough and just pulled off bit shitty then!! note to self: dont buy any

sparkycapri Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 paint the bonnet satin black and then the dents wont notice!!

mossy Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 try tapping it gently with a small hammer from the inside and work them out gently.

mossy Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 get a carbon fibre bonnet! looks cool, saves weight and a load of hassles!
bomber1 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 antz next time some one says about ur dents just pokem in the eyes. then ask if they can see them now
Rick Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 dents on large flat panels are bloody hard to remove. id say impossible without stripping off the paint and building it up with primer, then heavy blocking. darker colours tend to make little imperfections like this look ten times worse. to be honest i could live with a few small dents
tazrocks88 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 dent magician/master is the best way dont tap it whack it !
escort21 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Rub them with dry ice and the dents get pulled out...apparently
antz Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 well i got a few ieas now rick ive had them for 2 years and cos they are on the bonnet everyone can see them and hence they point it out
johnboy Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Antz, as suggested already, try one of the dent devil guys out of the yellow pages. We have a guy who does the sales cars at work and quite frankly he does an fantasic job. Best thing is he can look at a dent and tell you there and then if he can get it out instead spending 1 hour on it, it looking no better and then charging you £50! I suppose a lot does come down experiance, but trust me, they will get a better result than you having a go with a plank of wood and your hammer!
antz Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 i just dont have the money then again im sure ive seen one at work doing the pool cars there so i might keep my eyes open and ask him if he wnats to do mine one day looks like thats my only option if i want a good job done
