ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Just picked Amelia up from her grans and we went to the chippy on the way back. Amelia wanted a can of 7up so when we were walking back to the van she was doing her usual skipping. I said 'Don't skip, you're shaking the can up and it'll explode'. 'No it won't' she said.. So we get in the van, and she says 'I'll put it on the floor for safe keeping'. I say 'No, put it in the glove box because the floor gets warm and you don't want a warm can'. So we set off home. We come to a T-junction where i have to turn right. There were cars coming, but I knew I could make it, so I gave it some beans as I pulled out. All of a sudden there was this massive bang.... and then an explosion... and I couldn't see....because of what I can only describe as someone letting a hose pipe off in the cabin.. I had to pull over. When I floored it, the can of 7 up had flown out of the glove box and landed in the hole in the unpanelled door, hitting the sharp edge of the window channel bracket, puncturing the shaken up 7 up, causing it to 'explode' and spray all over the windscreen, all over the dash, all over the steering wheel, all over me and all over amelia. I've just cleaned it up but it's still all sticky in there....
