I just pulled up outside the house in my mk1, and rushed in to use the toilet, the doorbell goes,twice,because i cant finish Anyway get to the door and its the old couple from next door...''hi there i dont know if you have noticed but there is a smell of petrol everytime your red car is here!!'' what can you say?? i just replied '' yeah there will be its got carbs the size of houses '' I got a strange look and they turned round an walked off. They drive a 55 plate astra derv by the way.

Two of the minis have sports exhausts so does their golf and minor (i sold them the minor), the mk1 cavs got a blown exhaust no one notices me ...... great

Then half of them maoned because i dont use it anymore and they where getting up late. They dont really mind, i think its because they like the old cars so they let me off. Theres just the one idiot. Peeping tom nosey idiot type. Every time something happening, hes out there with his dog type to have a nose. Last time i was polishing the car i saw him staring out his window. He spotted me, then 3 seconds later hes round outside next to me saying 'i bet thats hard work, i havnt done that for years'. My reply? ' I can tell, your so fat it looks like you havnt done much for years'. He just walked away.

OLD SKOOL DUDE Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I think my neighbours are more pissed at me taking all the parking spaces than the noise , i do try to keep the revs down when i come home at 6 am but my mk1 escort has got a rover V8 in it ( sounds soooooo nice ) with twin 2" pipes so isnt silent lol , the Mustang's exhaust however is whisper quiet , unforunately its in the shed as i took it off , well whats the point in having a yank if you cant hear it ( im sure there's a sexual inuendo in there but im too much of a gent ..ahem ) ill post some vids on youtube so you can hear how loud they are , alriiiiiiiiiiiight !

sab6024 Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 My neighbours used to complain about the alarm on my Capri going off every night after the milk tanker went up the road They stopped moaning when the alarm went off and there were the evil petrol thieving gits outside Don't live there anymore and my nearest neighbours are a 10 minute walk away
Rick Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 we had the grinder and hammering goiung for about 18 months so we got a few complaints, the last complaint though was 'theres a funny smell drifting over, like paint....' i think if we hadnt slowed donw a bit now wed have had environmental health round by now
