Dunno, I guess it depends on the mood of the person that stops you. But I do know that if you get reported for breaking number plate rules too many times you can have your number taken off you by the DVLA and be given a Q plate.

theres been a few threads on this in the ask the fuzz page. to cut a long story short. they are illegal u can get an on the spot fine if ur lucky. worst case is the plod report u to dvla. they then revoke your number plate and give u a Q plate which then makes your car worth fook all :shock:

In that case has anybody got a q plate RS1600 and Mk1 Lotus Cortina for sale for fook all, pm me if you've got one you want to get rid of for nothing :wink:

Ive had them on my '77 car for about 3 years now and only got one policeman say something whilst i was in a petrol station,he said yellow and white plates are supposed to be on that car not black and silver,i said ok i will get them changed :lol:

they piss me off seen them on a saxo the other day but sods law if i stuck any on the fezza id immediatly get stoped

A point to mention here and this is very important, If your vehicle does not meet the requirements of both The Road Traffic Act and The Construction And Use Regulations then you ARE breaking the law. Also note that it is a requirement of ALL insurance policies that you comply with this two items of legislation! If you are not then your insurance is not valid ( poss impounding and crushing of your vehicle ) So all those who have never been knicked for no plate infringements be aware :(
