and the problem with a 2 door is people expect it to have the monster engine that most of them do... so its a bit of a let down for people when i tell them its a standard 1600

 

wheras a 4 door si vice versa, people expect a standard engine which makes them ideal for building a super sleeper

Mine is a 2 door mk2 escort, and that´s what I prefer. I think they in some way look shorter and seen from the side, it can be devided in 3 sections of almost equal length - front wing - door - rear 1/4 panel. But I must admit the 4 doors look really good when lowered and 7" wheels and I would never talk negative about them. Just my opinion

Surely it shouldn't bother you what other people think about your car... I've got a 2 door and a 4 door...but I prefer the 2 door as I think it looks better!

 

If you are genuinely bothered what OTHER people think about you car then think about this: I guarantee there are more people who would criticize your CHOICE of car (ie, old Mk2 Escort instead of something more modern and sensible) than there are people who would comment on how many doors you have. Would that make you want to get an Astra instead? Probably not...

 

My car gets attention wherever I go, but that's not necessarily always positive attention. I get the neon 20" rims fwd crew laughing at me all the time, but why should what a group of chavs think affect me in any way? It doesn't! Ultimately, if what people think about your car really affects you that much, then why own a classic ford?

 

If a 4 door is what you want, then have pride in that! Or maybe you are secretly harboring desires for a 2 door?

i've got a 2 door but people always moan and look down on it because its got a xe lump and not a ford lump i just get wound up and end up saying well i'll kick your fooking arse on the tarmac because they are usully the ones with the standard pinto and xflow's and its wrong to modifie it in there eyes

imo the only good thing about a 2 door is that you can fit wide arches with no issue's and that they have clean body lines because they have no rear door handle so u can remove the rear handle's if u realy have 2 u can modify the arches 2 suit!

but u have things a 2 door hasn't! u dont have 2 get out 2 let ur mates in the back like the chavs in there paxo's u have rear window's that open and more space . i wouldnt want out but my 4dr so 2 any1 that says shame its not a 2dr so yeh

 

1. I really dont think RS boot spoilers, Mex front spoilers, 1/4 bumpers, bucket seats, roll cages and Cibies suit 4 door Escorts. Just my opinion..

lol i get that, but after a bit of sideways action round the carpark nd a out the window the 1's that take the piss get in there cars n fook off, at the shows i get more attention than the plstic's which is great, but if u were 2 put a 2 dorr or a 4 door escort next 2 mine i would be over looked id be sniffingt round my self 2 or 4 dor a mk1/2 scort is an icon more so than the capper

 

and have you ever tried getting a full interior in a 2/3door (to transport) it dont work, if it wasn't for a 4dr ®Over of my mates i wouldnt have had my spoiler interior or any of the other bits that were 2 big to go in mine. 4 doors have more uses than 2 doors and u dont have 2 get out in the fecin rain snow watever just 2 let the mary inthe back get out i envy u

as above realy when i got my mk1 it had to be a 2door. great lines etc etc tho now i love the 4doors as much as the 2doors. if a car is put together well it dont matter if its 2/4door ford/non ford power plant boot bib spoilers qtr or full size bumpers. its still an osf and its in great nick being used as it should be. most people have good comments when neither car is in emaculate condition. end off the day i like what i have and i like driving them. sod 'em all i say
