Guest MK1gaz Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 And Gaz, i do wonder that how you can slate other peoples cars for having no interior, i.e back seats and heaters etc but do really quick strip times. you boast that your car has full street trim but what are your 1/4 mile times? It seems as though now you have the new N/A, 5 minute install cossie, you will have an excuse if it isnt that quick on the strip as you have "full road trim"!!! If your serious about racing and want a fast car, lose the weight. It is a simple question of physics!!! Sorry mate MINES A COMFY ROAD CAR and NOT a race car so it's keeping all the heavy bits . I'm not slagging off the stripped out motors (all the fastest ones are stripped out) i'm just asking which is the quickest oldskoolford of each engine type that's fully street legal at the time . I now know that the fastest N.A. 4 cylinder UK cars that run at the Pod without gas in a road legal M.O.T. passable state is 13.0 secs and 12.14 secs at York raceway . I reckon i can go 13.5 secs or faster At the pod with all my heavy bits still fitted and with normal 175mm rubber fitted . Watch and see
Guest MK1gaz Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 the 5 minute install didnt take 5 mins did it,the 250bhp atmo pinto aint got 250 bhp has it .get the fook on the stripe,track what ever gaz and start proving if/when this bloody thing of yours lives up to the super hype m8.lovely car no dought but at the moment the 197hp atmo cossie aint done shit m8.peace Aaaaaaaah , another 400+bhp turbo slow boy to go with puddys one !!!!!!! . My engine fitted in 5 mins thanks but i needed to wait for parts and sell things to buy all the other bits , hence it took 13 months including a bit of bodywork which is good going i think . It made 262 bhp on one dyno and 212bhp so far at torque of the devil (not finished yet) so it should be about 240+bhp on most of the others then . I'll be up the Pod this summer running 13.5secs or faster or 11 secs on slicks with all the bits missing

Not a clue.. but having the fastest car also depends on the driver.There are a few very fast,Quick cars out there, and i have been in a few of them. Now as for BHP fiqures i have seen 200 bhp pintos blow 350 + bhp cossy`s at brands hatch. Take kev warn`s car for instance, awesome loads of power and he knows how to drive it, but Ford fair he was wheelspinning most of the way round, So getting a car to handle and on a track is one thing and getting one to handle @ the pod is another. The age old question,power without grip arises? But there is also the added question of the driver that is also a major factor, Some people can get in someones car and run a quicker time than the owner. It happens and its not just the car alone But its the package...car...suspension.....set up...engine...tyres...drivers... which makes a fast car. Ickys Orange Mk2 with the 2.2 pinto was Awesome Micks Mk1 Awesome Cossiematts Mk2 Awesome... And i have been in all 3 cars and there some of the best trackday cars i have been in. Ricky Hutchings Mk2 will be awesome and i know Ricky can drive Andypipe mk1 1600 xflow another well set up mk1 and andy can pilot his car as well. Pig the looonatic maybe getting his power down aswell All in all 2008 should be the year, everyone will have there cars out to play Will Gaz`s Mk1 run a time and quieten the disbelivers Will Wayne WPE get his Angrybox out to play will Kev 16v get a car out this year Will Mick go faster @ the ring Will Kev Mk2 Go N/A Or keep it Turbo`d and get te times he wants @ the Pod?
