hi peeps in my pc. what problems did you have today?

my throttle cable was rubbing on the big terminal on the alternator, rubbed through the plastic, down to the spiralled metal outer. then all my amps ran straight down my inner cable and earthed on the pedal!!! saw smoke under the dash, got worse so i turned the battery isolator and stopped on the hard shoulder to check my wiring. all the wires were cold so i went to drive off. that's when i realised the throttle wouldn't return! :( the bonnet was removed and i saw the throttle cable but the moulten plastic had set while i was on the hard shoulder, throttle stuck wide open!! a quick trip home with some eventful gearchanges so my bike could donate a brake cable and back to pease pottage!!!

No problems from my house to the ace and no ploblems from the ace right down to brighton,

BUT

On the way home taking some back roads to avoid the traffic, god dam shitty roads hit a some big bumps on the uneven road and I think I've broke something, got a horrid banging/clonking comming from the rear end, had a look but cant see anything

Need to take it to work and get it up on the ramps :sad::sad:

I got home fine, but when we stopped off to get petrol there was some guy with a white mk2 on the phone to the AA - throttle sensor had gone he said....

I broke down at Pease Pottage thanks to a stuck needle valve on number one carb. It started playing up about 7 miles from the services, so god knows how much fuel I lost. Mr. Rustynuts gave me a hand to strip the carb down and refit it. All was well for a short while, but while I was waiting in the queue to leave it started spitting fuel out again and overheated.

I was ready to call the AA, but Rusty came back for me and all problems mysteriously mended themselves. Oh, I ran out of fuel on the way home too :lol:

my drive shaft fell off on the way there. Thank fook I packed the tools and a jack. I managed to use two gearbox bolts and a load of washers off my cage to re attach the drive shaft bearing carrier.

There's nothing like a road side bodge LOL

Today was not a day out, it was an adventure!

Got about a mile from the ace, and there was a bit ploom of smoke out the back of the car, kept on going and all seemed fine, got to pease pottage and the head gasket had a small hole in it and spitting out oil!

Not the end of the world, and still made it to Brighton and had an amazing day out, a big thanks to all involved, the only problem with the show is that I have to wait another year for it to come around again.

so set off home, and about a mile from the marina the car started juddering up the road, so I pulled over. The battery had broken loose and fallen onto the manifold melting the side off it and spilling acid all over the engine bay, managed to get a new batt and used my shoe lace to hold it in place, so off i set again. Got half way home and the clip that hold the clutch cable to the pedal box broke leaving me in the fast lane with no power!

Well it all got botched up and now im home, what a day out! I cant wait for next year!

Thanks to all that stopped to help

!

the only problem i had was the security bloke asking me to send people away as we had blocked the traffic up back to the pier roundabout!

One of the catches that holds the roof on broke off when we put it down, had visions of it popping up on the drive home

But managed to fix it with a borrowed screw from the back door and a piece of plastic broken of off a box.

Im sure everyone overtook me while I waited for my brake caliper to cool down after jamming on on the motorway from pease to brighton, I was revving about 4/5 and going about 29mph I reckon-smoking!

Thanks to everyone for stopping to help out

Fook me I drove all the way back home from brighton without touching my brake pedal once!... We went flying down the hard shoulder when all of a sudden the traffic came to a sharp halt, dodgy.

Cant believe I didn't blow the gearbox to bits with so many hardcore down changes! My handbrake deserves a medal of honour too

Top Day

i broke down on the m25 between 8 and 9 on the way there!!! alternator belty had come off and the pulley had come undone!!! towed of the 25 by the aa to a layby where a patrol guy took the alternator off, tightened it all up in his vive, back together, quick compression test and all was good!!! took 3 hours out of the day but least we got there :P:P:P

I had to stop a couple of times to let the car cool down, its was running at 105c at some points  and the temp inside the car was even hotter  It seems to run hotter since i have fitted the bigger turbo, one reason for that is the water is running through the turbo and putting boiling hot water back into the header tank, not much can be donw about that apart from fitting another cooler :lol:
