mk2 stu Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 The question I was asked on friday. After two years together I'm now back at my parents but still in posession of my beautiful mk2
5hane Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 PMSL i am crying at that , so you wernt really fter long term then ? lmao.. poor girl..
pauline Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 you made the right choice I think you made the right choice. My ex did the same still have the car and he's gone
oddball Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Oh dear not a question you should ever ask an OSF owner You definately made the right choice too
livewire7116 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Ive had that one as well, but after i told her i had the car before her she is no more!!
fezza Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Been close to that myself......................................a few times
BaileyMex Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 An Old Skool Ford is for Life, not just for Xmas
mk2 stu Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 Well I tried to explain to her that after 5 years of hard graft and thousands spent on it I feel i deserve to get a few seasons of fun out of it! But she only sees it as a deposit on a bigger house! Sorry love but the cars staying love ya!!
5hane Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Well I tried to explain to her that after 5 years of hard graft and thousands spent on it I feel i deserve to get a few seasons of fun out of it! But she only sees it as a deposit on a bigger house! Sorry love but the cars staying love ya!! how long were you going out / married for ??!??! (for a house to be mentiond) i bet she's gutted.. is it worse than the doll insident? or not
Posse Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Cars are cheaper to run to and they have plenty of leaky seals. Also they don't come on once a month
zetecmk2 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 i could build another car, but i couldn't build another trace!!!! (she'd never ask that anyway! )
pauln Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Not that she would ever make me choose. I choose the wife. The Cortina would be the last to go though.
escortmad79 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I'm lucky (& thankful) that Michelle's into cars & has her own mk1 with her Dad so that question should never come up
D4N Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Im waiting for this question with rallying. 'Me or rallying' But if you ever get this question... the top tip is say that it is money in the bank you not gunna lose money on a escort in less somthing realy goes wrong. This is how we got away with haveing 3 diffrent engines in the escort this year or dont tell her what you have got.
5hane Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 or dont tell her what you have got. i do that with my mum 'look what i got, a set of gaz shocks only £50 ) not good really, but she would go beserk.. i stillhaven ttold her ive jsut spend almost all my money on some polybushes and bits
countrybumpkin Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 i dont know if i could choose but depending on the ladie in question i would probably end up choosing her
accord83 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 It's a problem, the answer would depend on how good a welder she was.
zetecmk2 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 if you get the right doris, it will never be an issue
DanV Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 It's a problem, the answer would depend on how good a welder she was. I had this once over a car that I wanted. Please can I sell the 106 and get one of those? "You can have one if you wanna be a single man!" Packed my bags and two days later had a D reg Series 1 RST Happy Days
mk2 stu Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 Trouble is she was bang into the motors and stuff, but now things are tight and i've spent alot recently on the car she reckons it has to go, plus there are other issues like me spending more time down workshop on car then on her ha ha!! Still here starts the new period of my life, escy on the road next month and plenty of spare time to drive the wheels off it!!
