I had my capri off the clocks (140) very much doubt it was near that figure though. Parked up and police came flying in 5 mins later, he said "We where behind you on the dual carriage-way doing well over 100 and we couldn't catch you"

 

I looked at their 07 plate focus diesel and said "well you won't in that" he actually laughed!

Had the civic showing 151mph on the sat nav, 157mph on the speedo :mrgreen:

XR2 showing 93mph on the sat nav, 100mph on the speedo :shock: (felt like 201mph though :mrgreen::mrgreen: ) didn't want to push it too hard, its a long way to push it home :oops:

i had 95 mph out of my 1600e (standard) well thats what it said on the speedo and it didn't seem to take to long to get there,i don't think it would have done any more though. :thumbsup:

In the mk1 110mph with a different diff i think it would do more :mrgreen: Time i felt closest to death pillion on my mates ZZR1100 when he wondered what it would do 2 up :lol::lol::lol:

i once just hit 130 but as most ford speedos are out i geuss that was wrong

 

probally more like 120

130ish in a cortina with a tuined V6 and 5 speed, 15" alloys, speedo was off the clock :lol:

On the way to southend on the M25 back in the late 80's :mrgreen:

Driven quicker in a cossie and a TT XR4i but they don't count :lol:

porbably my old sport wen i booted it from 60 and me speedo would bounce to 100 :lol:

 

 

fastest i went with me driving as me series 1 mk 3 RS(ino not old skool but still nice for an oldish ford).

 

currently killing my 1300 in fourth gear on many motorsways everyday.

152 mph in the Capri at the Classic Ford thrash at Bruntingthorpe. Only went into 5th at 135. Plenty left but doing that speed towards imovable giant concrete blocks is a bit hairy!

164mph the other night, leaving a M3 csl behind :ykt::mrgreen:

The old doors were falpping and everything :lol:

That was 7400rpm in 5th gear, red line is 8100rpm, i reckon its got 170-172mph in it on a 3.75 diff ratio and more when and if i fit a 3.44 ratio :shock::lol::lol:

my mate was following me upto escort tec in my escort and he was in his golf, he was at 100mph and i came tearing past but seeing as my speedo was out im not sure what i was doing :ykt:

178 in hippies mk1 escort on his gps.

170 in mine on gps on the old engine etc

in both cars these speeds feel like 300mph

in the mk2 cortina with standard 2lt pinto 5speed and 4branch + cherry bomb 115 on satnav,was damn scary lol cruises at a 100 fine

165 mph in a 30 zone, on the autobahn (roadworks)................followed by a nice letter from the Polizi and a pic...........they informed me it was a prison sentence if they could prove it was me :shock::shock: at this speed when you pass a trabant the wind pressure pushes him onto the hard shoulder
