JAY PS Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 This comes from a memo from cid in london "Due to the increase in classic car prices ,be aware that classic car thefts are on the increase and ringing classics is now very big business Out of every ten classics stolen only 1 is recovered and this if difficult to trace due to older cars having only one id fitted"
livewire7116 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Heard about a recent conversation in a pub in Plymouth where they were overheard offering a scrote £1k to steal a particular car and take it up north, The people who are taking these cars dont give a shit about what they are worth really to them its just money. People to blame are the ones who ask them to do it, THESE PEOPLE ARE AMONG US SAD BUT TRUE AS WHO ELSE WOULD KNOW WHAT OSF PARTS ARE WORTH TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE. Somebody in the midlands or up north is making money out of US!!!!

Rick Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 this is bad news. id hate to think sum1 could destroy two years of work overnight best thing to do is insure it for more than its worth and chain it to the nearest lampost where it cant be hoisted onto a trailer. i think people should start adding unique panels to thjeir car to make them stand out more. mine for example has custom rad panels to look out for if its ever stolen. or even weld your name all over the chasis rail. I know theres no proven fool proof method but anyway to make it harder for criminals is worth doing. its too easy to change an identity.... maybe buying and selling of logbooks should be banned, im sure a lot of us have been involved in this and really unless we know who were selling to it may be a big mistake in the long run.... or maybe we shud just start cutting the hands off the thieving scum that do this instead of slapping wrists... i could go on and on just feel for the owner
LUKE261 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 thats not good!!!! Apple Pies id kick fook into em if i knew who it was!!
