Hello guys and gals

I have a 1979 RS2000 which is pretty much standard. I have always wanted to own one and since having it I have began to collect various x-pack options with the intention of fitting them.

The problem now is fitting the kit as once its started there will be no going back. My mate will be fitting the kit and painting it as he is a painter and panel beater.

I am looking for your opinions on the matter and if any of you have had previous experience with arch kits etc.

I have attached a few recent photos of it.

If it was a rotter or needing a resto then I'd say go for it but it looks very nice as it is and I wouldn't have the the round ones to cut into that  good luck with whatever you choose

It does look clean but I'd x pack it. I love an arched escort and you don't see too many of them around. If your wings are mega clean, might be worth getting some more from eBay and cutting those up, and selling your ones to recoup some funds?

Ditto from me, X packs are nice but by doing it you'll be cutting away what looks to be good steel and replacing it with Fibreglass.

The rear quarters have new arch repair panels welded in so easy there to chop them, the front are proper wings with no welding. I did the restoration to it and its pretty solid but has had a lot of welding here and there so its far from mint. Every time it goes for a MOT the examiner smiles and says "Its Solid". I spent money getting the x-pack wheels refurb and the engine is 2.1 with a high uplift which makes it nice for a set of 40's or 45's as was an option for x pack. I reckon I'll do it but it will take bottle!!

If I didnt have the Mex then I would probably have a Black MK2 RS2000 custom.....slammed!!

Love it how it is, BUT...........it's your car at the end of the day mate, I'd only chop it up if it was rotten

PM'd my email to you.

I'm gonna get the wheels on and still a bit undecided. It was a bit of a shed when I got it and I did all the work to get it back to roadworthy and its running really well and everything works so a bit scared to start the work.
