stephens_xpack Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Does OSF have their own area, would give me something to aim for?
Admin Vista Posted June 28, 2016 Admin Report Posted June 28, 2016 Does OSF have their own area, would give me something to aim for? Yes we do but the deadline for booking club stands is the day after tomorrow so if you want to put your car on the stand you need to order your ticket and pass before then. See link below: http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/store/product/47-ford-fair-2016-entry-tickets/
stephens_xpack Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 Cool, I will talk with my buddy who is helping with the car. Only thing with Silverstone is, it is a 200 mile round trip, and for a car not driven much in recent times, just not sure it is a wise move, but saying that, you do only live once so I am torn........
irishtorag Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 stephen the first trip i took in my old escort after a 6 year wait was 780km in same day. Never missed a beat and never stopped all day but for 1hour... Plus side is we never stopped smiling during and after the trip.( between yawns) 2
stephens_xpack Posted June 30, 2016 Report Posted June 30, 2016 Irishtorag - You are a brave boy as that journey is hefty for a first ride out. I doubt I would be finished in time for Ford Fair anyhow, so I am looking at a more local meet which is a Ford show at Battlesbridge in Essex, which is a round trip of a mahoosive 30 miles max . Really looking forward to the challenge and driving her again, just hope I can get sorted in time. 3

PeterMEscort Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Photo taken on December 21, 1980 of me and my RS2000 out the front of my home. It was the first day on my full drivers licence. My father funded the purchase of the brand new RS on the condition I was never to work on motor cars. It was the first car in the family. I still own the RS (genuine 40,000km) however my father has long passed away. I still live at the same address and still have the RS t-shirt. The car has been stored since 1990. Sometime soon I hope to have the RS running so I can drive it home and take another photo in exactly the same spot. 4
stephens_xpack Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 ^^^^ That is a cool story, and another photo in the same spot would be really cool^^^^ Great that you kept the car, I bought my Capri when I was 21, around about 1992 and I still have it. I would imagine like myself, you will never sell the car now, not unless desperate anyhow. I will keep a look out for the second picture...
Admin Vista Posted September 1, 2016 Admin Report Posted September 1, 2016 As above, looking forward to the now shot. 26 years in storage? There's an RS desperate to be driven.
PeterMEscort Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Thank you Stephen and Vista, Guess life has kept me very busy in all that time and the RS has had no priority. I am working on the car a few hours every day. Plan is to fire it up in the next month or two. The master plan is to take exactly the same photo with exactly the same camera, with my same friend taking the photo on December 21, 2017. PeterM.
RWL81P Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 me with my grandads 2.0s capri in about 1985, i'd love to buy that car just a pity it wasnt a 3.0 though.
YellowTaxi Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 Wow, love that snap of the ausie RS2000. Is it me or has it got perspex covers over the lights? Seen that before on Ausie RS's was it factory or just a popular mod at the time?
