Posse Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Shambles lol a bus getting lost for four hours on its way to the village . No one knowing what lanes to use around London . Heathrow airport expecting double amount of people arriving through the airport and no extra staff. Plus side where I live looks mint all new road surfaces all trees and grass looking like Chelsea flower show lol. The council got it right tho all these roads and bits they have been doing just for the tv and people visiting the money has come out of the Olympics pot lol .

Not bothered either, huge waste of money when we have much bigger problems in the UK rather than looking 'good' in the eyes of the world, Take your TV camera's around the deprived areas of the UK and ask the people on the poverty line working all the hours god sends to feed their kids or the homeless if they think spending millions on a bunch of non UK residents running around a bit or throwing things is a good use of money.... I think I know the answer

NHS-Police-army- immigration i could go on... They could start a new event in the games, a job offer if you can keep up with a man on a moped going round + round the stadium. the last one standing after say 3 days can be a security guard.. ( only if you cant speak english )

Mcdonalds at a sports event FFS. American companies being given the sponsorship deals I mean that is taking the pee when the UK is in such a state. What happened to the free market we are supposed to be a democracy. G4s is the old G4 prisoner release program yes, useless, but MPs have shares so they get it. It's a farce. I'm glad I am so far away from it all. I feel for you who live down that way it's going to be a nightmare.

As regards the opening ceremony, I may be in the minority but I don't much care, I was completely blown away by it. A fantastic stage show and I enjoyed every minute of it. The evolution of Britain through the industrial revolution and 20th century, the music, the literary achievements of some of our most famous writers, from Elgar to The Prodigy in 90 entertaining minutes!

Noticed ozone layer took another hammering from fireworks and all those pretty lights will have had our national grid (that's already on it's limit) sweating buckets. What annoys me is how the goverment bash on how we all should be saving the enviroment and heating /lighting etc ,load of hipocrites. Had to laugh when they played sex pistols snippet of god save the queen then missed next line out (the facist rehgeme )lol !! Ironicly as i write just said on tv it was great ceremony but could money have been spent better elsewhere !!. The debate will rage on and on i fear. There are more important things to bother about , like will i ever get my mk1 escort going.

In the current economic climate? Have to say how many other nations will 'get' all the stuff about the industrial revolution? From the outside looking in, I suspect it will just be some weird Acid trip..... Can't wait for it to be over.
