That's been in before and I, of course, think it's lovely.

I thought it may have been posted before but didnt want to go back through 50 pages.

What about this one, has it been posted before?

I'd have that. Take off the Halfords arch extenders and put a proper set of wheels on it and you'd have a nice Capri.

I don't think it has, but it is worthy of a place.

And they're on the wrong way.

Not that they are on the wrong way! Aren’t they on the wrong thing? Shouldn’t they be on a house lol

The guy that built that, and his daughter as I recall, were members on here. He called it tje RS9000 I think and got quite narked when someone was uncomplimentary about it. Built for a single purpose mind, drag racing.

That's based near me. Quite a lot of attention to detail in the building of it.

Yeah, unfortunately there's a lot of people who think that Escorts should only have RS4s/Minilights and a set of cibies on the front or be RS copies. They don't like someone doing something different.

I have to be honest, cars that are only fast in a straight line don't really float my boat, in particular when there's little remaining of the original car and the changes have made them completely unusable for anything else......but I DO very much appreciate the engineering necessary to make it work.

Another example is that TVR with a plastic Escort bodyshell. For me, it's just not an Escort, never was, never will be......albeit I still appreciate the work that went into it.

Whilst I take the point and this may not be a daily 'grocery getter' it is road legal and I believe still used. The doorslammer class it was entered for required a road 'cruise' element after qualifying, with a stop and a hot start and sometimes a fuel up at a local petrol station just to prove it wasn't a 'trailer queen' which when compared to some cars that turn up to car shows ......... is a bit ironic ! ! !

One of the rules of the class it raced in was that the cars have to be MoTd, insured and taxed. It might not be practical or easy to drive but it is/was legal.

Its the bars that are holding up the front scoop to the bumpers that make me laugh, it reminds me of those 60s/70s shelves that hold glasses from the ceiling over your home bar.

Any idea of its Quarter Mile times and speed over the line?
