I imagine it would have been cheaper to import one than to do that to a Capri?

It was probably done when Capris were going for 500 quid. 1000 quid would get you a minter.

wasn't they made like that by a company in australia? sure i saw one featured in classic ford many moons ago.

Yep. Much better looking, in my opinion.

I don't think either are likely to win any beauty contests though. I wouldn't fancy taking it into a corner too quickly either!

i have a photo of that somewhere of the engine bay. it came to doncaster custom car show in the early 90s.
