accord83 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Today a mate and myself made a road trip in to the flatlands of deepest Lincolnshire, braving the increasing sound of banjos We travelled on and eventually I bought an Opel Manta It's a 1600 auto and wouldn't pull the dick off a chocolate soldier, but due to my left leg being a bit fubarred at the moment I need the slush box. The pics are from a forthcoming Practical Classics article, and it's just so knuckle bitingly pretty. Sorry guys I was seduced by the G.M. darkside. (Don't worry I still have the Escort for short runs) 1
PeteRS8084 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Wow that's clean. .........its like stepping back to the 80s for me when I was serving in the army in Germany, they were all over the p,ace, and ubber cool.hopemis helps the fubared leg!
colr6 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Drop a red top in it. And put a smile on the chocolate soldiers face lol
colr6 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Now now boys, no bickering between escort owners
PeteRS8084 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Here's a thing, don't add forum stuff when your tired and imotional, you have been out for curry and beers.........because what you think is perfect typing really is not!
khanlad Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I thought there was some funny spelling, or you'd invented a new language but told no one else in the world about it! Hehe 2
colr6 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I thought he was trying to show off his new text talk capabilities 1
colr6 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Stop it now you know how people get upset on here about grammar and spelling, be warned the english police will be watching!!!
Admin Vista Posted October 23, 2015 Admin Report Posted October 23, 2015 I had a mk1 Cavalier with that same 1.6 litre lump in the late 80's, you're right, it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding! Does look pretty in that early B series Manta though. red top lump sounds like a plan
accord83 Posted October 24, 2015 Author Report Posted October 24, 2015 This one is staying standard as it is allegedly the last Mk1 1600S Manta B left on the road, I just need a boulevard cruiser at the moment. If I need to drive around like my pants are on fire I shall select the blue oval (Leg/knee permitting). 1
colr6 Posted October 24, 2015 Report Posted October 24, 2015 At least the chocolate soldier will be happy. He's not losing his dick lol
accord83 Posted October 24, 2015 Author Report Posted October 24, 2015 Yeah, but he might get it gently tugged..........
Admin Vista Posted October 24, 2015 Admin Report Posted October 24, 2015 At least the chocolate soldier will be happy. He's not losing his dick lol Que? Bit of a subject changes isn't it?
guido Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 Classic Vauxhall also nice cars, Good reliable car, easy to work on.I have an earlier gen. German Opel Kadett B '69 with a modified 2.0 XE. Still a project. I would also go for the red top engine. They run very well. 2
accord83 Posted October 31, 2015 Author Report Posted October 31, 2015 That Kadett B will look a bit tasty when finished.
skeeter Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Lovely looking car, I am after a Manta A to add to my small fleet as I love the styling. Ken
accord83 Posted November 3, 2015 Author Report Posted November 3, 2015 A good Manta A is in good Capri money, so I've got a Manta B! I also wanted an auto and this caught my eye.
The Transplanter Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 That Kadett B will look a bit tasty when finished. Typo or piss take lol I sell mounts to fit red tops into that http://www.retrofication.co.uk/535.html RV8's used to be the favourite to chuck into those back in the day! V8 would be much nicer with a slush box
