Jay_harrier Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Not these days, since becoming an old b*stard my ability to sleep anywhere has improved immensely, so laying on my back under the car late in the evening would only mean being woken by a snail crawling across my face....

Messenjah Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 everything on my car gets done outside ! ive got a dodgy tappet post aswell (hmmm is that what i mean ? ) so no4 cylinder inlet tappet securing locknut rattles loose at high rpm so i opened it up and adjusted the tappets tightened it all down went for a play in the snow (the other week ) que lots or driving like a loonatic in a big deserted car park ! and it rattled itself loose again so straight back home and did exactly the same thing again u can tell its cold outside when u cut ureself and the blood starts "seaming" lol
Morley Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I remember one early morning, on Leatherhead roundabout, scrabbling around under a certain white Mexico swapping a petrol pipe that had split for the over-flow pipe from my radiator then stinking of petrol for the rest of the day Happy days
escort21 Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Under the car most nights myself.....whatever the weather
60ftman Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 SNOW NOW THATS HARD CORE:thumbsup: I welded the new chassis into our old Anglia in the snow. Dressed up like Nanook of the North, I made sure the doors were still on the shell to give some protection. Worked out well in the end though. Got a rented garage now (for a couple of months at least), but it lets more water in than if the car sat outside. Ho Hum
orionmojo Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 nah. i'm a big wimp. i'll work in the dark and cold no probs, but if it rains i'm off! that was one of the golden rules taught to me by my dad. dont lay on the ground without a mat and dont get wet!
Twinkle Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 yep im hardcore, now on my second rebuild on the drive, all my tools including the welder are kept in a wheel barrow to make it easier doing the trek from the shed to the drive and look at last year the night before most rounds of the osfdc i was out under the twink at midnight working by bed side lamp in the rain putting it back together talkin to the drunks on their way back from the pub
