Admin Vista Posted August 15, 2016 Admin Report Posted August 15, 2016 Werent glass sunroofs a factory option for your Escorts there? No, thankfully. Only Webasto full length vinyl ones.

jordan98 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 well ive got the chance to buy a 87 2.9I auto Granny for 2k with 20k one owner...i think 2k is cheap
colr6 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Wouldn't say they were giving anything away at that price, not a well sought after car. Tbh
jordan98 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 who knows maybe 1o years from now that opinion may change
colr6 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Being one of the upper models, if you can afford to leave the investment in the car who knows. Who forty years ago would have thought a £100 escort would command the price tag they have now. On that theory could be worth a pun. Still think at this moment in time it's not cheap.

Afraid I agree with this. I also think £2k is a lot. These are not collectable or desirable cars yet.
Herr Doktor Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 These are not collectable or desirable cars yet. ..... being the Devil's advocate here but neither was my Apache 20 years ago!
colr6 Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 If we knew then what we know now we all had it we would be millionaires
Herr Doktor Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 If we knew then what we know now we all had it we would be millionaires .... ain't that the truth!
colr6 Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 Well how many cars people on here have chopped cars up for some parts for another project then binned what's left. The amount of 3ltr capris we've broke up just for the axles makes me cry now. We used a mk1 rs2000 shell that got slightly damaged on a car transporter when it was new back in the days when they re- shelled cars for grass track. Out of interest we paid £100 for it back in 75
deltamal Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 My Father in law bought a new Mk3 Cortina L in 76, around £1,050 I think, its now my main show car.... 1
logieiow Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 I bought a 2 door escort in 1993 for £150, used it for a year until the MOT ran out and sold it for £50! The next time I saw it was in the local scrap yard
guido Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 bought my first car back in the late 1980's, for about 500 GLD must be around £135 it was a Ford Escort 2 1600 sport
