RWL81P Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 Slight critisim there, should have been a penny more in keeping with era yeah, cos 2p was my bus fare!

aardvark101 Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 Did your friends point and laugh? Dude, I was the original "Walkman" 1
stephens_xpack Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 I did have a penny on there at first, but a little light and it kept falling off, the 2p seems to stay put a lot longer. It's amazing what a difference it makes, I took two brand new Arctic Monkeys albums (daughters) to HMV and got them swapped as thought they were faulty, but the third one was exactly the same. I put a coin on and instant fix. Plus loads of old albums I had kept also the same, jump without the coin, but with the coin play perfect.
RWL81P Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 yep its an old trick but it works, seen juke boxes with em and even big ben has pennys for the counter weights.

skeeter Posted September 28, 2016 Report Posted September 28, 2016 Mine was "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Purchased from the record department in our towns Woolworths.
Admin Vista Posted September 28, 2016 Author Admin Report Posted September 28, 2016 So there are people who bought tasteful records for their first single?
stephens_xpack Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 Na, it wasn't an old penny, but then it wouldn't have been for me anyway, it was the 80's by the time I was buying records, I grew up in the decimal era...
RWL81P Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 So there are people who bought tasteful records for their first single? hope your not refering to crazy little thing called love? im sure queen had better records than that.

DT36 Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Here's mine. Still got it too. Seen most of the old Ska bands live, but have to say that the highlight was the Specials 30 year anniversary.
Jerrytom161 Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Top first single!! .. I was and to be honest still am into ska and I also saw The Specials 30th anniversary tour on two dates . Also going to see them in two weeks at the troxy in London , it's a shame that sadly John Bradbury the drummer passed away earlier this year , but I am sure they will still put on an amazing set . Top band !! 1
