colr6 Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 Anybody had any plastic chromed or rechromed ? Found plenty of companies on the net but all steer towards loads and not single items. It's the plastic eyeballs from the heater vents I want doing. Any suggestion or recommendations ?

I had some scabby plastic trim hydro dipped, for £25. 1

Ray Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 look on flea bay for mk1 escort switches, you will find a man in poland, user name is something like makormosa, bad spelling lol, he re furbishes the chorome on the switches as part of it, he has a u tube video of the chroming method as well, had my switches done by him and really good 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted December 22, 2016 Moderator Report Posted December 22, 2016 Good to see a few options out there where once there was nothing. I had to switch my GL type trims to Ghia ones because the chrome plastic coating pealed off the GL ones where the Ghia ones are a metal strip so you can polish them. 1
Herr Doktor Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 I'm with Ray on this. I bought the switches off the Polish guy too and if he uses the same methodology as demonstrated on youtube I can wholeheartedly recommend it. 1

Admin Vista Posted December 22, 2016 Admin Report Posted December 22, 2016 There is a guy in the UK who supplies those switches restored too. Might be worth a chat with him. Details in this thread http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/topic/70089-mk1-escort-headlight-switch-help/
